Oc'ing addiction knows no bounds... I grabbed two new 2.4C cpus from pcmarket.com.au making sure I'd be getting Malay instead of the three 2.4C costa ricas i got :)

both are

2.4C
Malay
Q322A285
22/7/03

- one has a smudged like finger print, the the cpu IHS's writing was more blurry like the other cpus I get.
- the other 2.4C had a very shiny mirror like IHS and the writing on the IHS was more clearer and darker making it very very readable compared to other cpus i've had - decided to test this one first with my 190cfm delta fans :D

P4C800-E 1011.02 beta bios
MCX4000 + 120x38mm Delta 190cfm fan on high speed

Results:

@280fsb at default vcore
= 1.525v it rebooted after 1 pass of memtest STD #1-7 tests

@275fsb at default vcore
= 1.525v memtesting for past 55 mins now error free

@277fsb at default vcore
= memtesting error free for past 35mins :)

-----
Q322A285 blew away my costas. Costa 2.4C only managed to do 275fsb at 1.7-1.775v vcore and with 190cfm managed 280-285fsb at that high vcore.

thats kool :toast:
they've got "FPO#: Q322A143" in sweden, but it's at "the expensive" store :(
what does the a143 refer to ?
or A285 in your case.

A285 is serialization code - no one knows what it is for

It stands for serialization  :D ;)

Reading here and there makes me very happy with my 2.4C, that manages easily 291FSB with default Vcore....

Not to mention that other 2.4C, that's running 308FSB@1.44V :D But sadly it's not mine.... :(

Well hell no..... just water, "room temp" water....

My 2.4C ( the one, that hits 310FSB under the Vapochill ) goes to 285MHz with good AIR ( Volcano 7+ ) and the other, the better is hitting 300FSB with the same cooling and around 1.5V Vcore....

But my AIR compared to yours is..... how should I say it..... like a baby toy ;)

Who said anyone was trying to compete for best cpu TodB? ;)

Nice speeds eva with those Q chips. You know my results from ocau so wont post them here again :)

Will be interesting to see what theese chips of ours do with a little more volts and a mach 2

I just think he was pointing out that eva2000 had better air cooling than he did.

I'll never know the full potential of my 2.4c, Kunaak had it at 3.8g but my IC7 tops out at 292fsb (prime atleast) so I'll never know ! hehe

crank um up Eva2000 !!!! up the juice lets see what they can do !:toast:

well still testing the first Q322A285 and it is alot better than costas upto 275fsb @ default vcore, but prime95 errors in windows .. past 275fsb like costa still needs some considerable vcore (guess that's what the prommy is for heh)

all 3 screenies below are with 2.4C with 1.825v vcore

http://www.fileshosts.com/pentium4/D1/asus/p4c800e_results/2.4C_3m/ocz/pc3700gold/2x256/190cfm/296-237-2.5337-4-STD-1.825v-1.8v/cpuz.jpg

301fsb rebooted straight after the screenie was taken :o

1.825v can drop to 1.712v underload heh

Nice one bud

Tried to max mine out and here is where she got to with only using 1.55bios and you can see the real in screenie :)

300fsb would reboot at the windows splash screen regardless of volts and tried all way up to 1.80 in bios, so about 1.78real.

Cant wait till tomorrow, although will prob put the 2.8 in first :)

Finally some good cpus for us bud

very nice.. when my prommy comes going test with 2.4C first just in case - save my 2.8C for once i figure all the stuff out - don't want to kill the 2.8C right off the bat ;)

hmm look at these temps LOL

Why do people still pretend batch # and stepping actually mean squat with p4's.
When it has been proven time and time again they dont.
Plain and simple your new 2.4's beat up on your old ones.
Not the malay beat the costa. or this fpo batch # beat that fpo batch.
There is no ryhme or reason to p4's i can find 10 costas that do better then your malay so the point is really you just got a good cpu. Not a Better cpu then all the costas out there. For all you know the next one after yours doesnt even do 3ghz at all.
Its just how it is.
Generally with intel the newer the better.
There yields dont get worse usally they improve.
Thats all the info you need to know

Creative

I hear what your saying DJ, but you would have to be a little naive to not even use the fpo batches a tiny bit in determining how an Intel cpu will OC

My 2 cents :)

Fpo Batch Means about the same as the direction the wind was blowing in malaysia or Costa rica when it came out of the fab friend:)

well just swapped in the 2nd one in and it is true 2.4C IHS with finger prints are better hehe

the one with the finger print is doing 283fsb at default vcore and 285fsb at default vcore errors in test #3 - could be related to my memory used XMS3500C2 in 5:4

2nd cpu

not prime stable but can do super pi

i've finally find a good cpu :D

it can boot and run memtest and benchies/super pi at up to 283fsb default vcore, but priming had tried 1.55v, 1.575v, 1.6v, 1.675v bios and all don't prime95 v23.7

finally found the sweat spot which it primed for 2hrs before i stopped it @283fsb at 1.616v real vcore in windows (which was 1.725v in bios)

decided to bump up the fsb to see how far it goes at 1.616v real vcore, and so far i'm memtesting at 293fsb = 3514mhz :)

I think i'm going to hit 300fsb finally :D
