Been waiting for this board. I think this mobo isn't officially lauched yet. Here in Romania you can find it listed , but they don't have it in stock , so it looks like I'll have to wait a bit more. Hope by the time it gets here, dfi engineers will fix the damn bios.
Any comments on the package, build quality, northbridge cooler?

The overall quality is good :)
But the Bios..... is crap!
On HWLuxx we are 4-5 users and we all have the same problems. The maximum is 422Mhz FSB. Yesterday i have the thougt to send the board back, but i hope for a new bios!
PS: pictures will be added this afternoon ;)

I'm one of those guys with the same problem.
Installed my X3350 in it, and max I can reach is 380*8 (on the P5Q-PRO, I was able to run that same cpu at 475*8).
So for now, I can say that the bios is crap and I hope that a new bios will fix things soon.
Otherwise the board goes back.

Thanx SeLecT for the heads up:cool:
Btw is ABS function useful, or is just a overclocking tool for noobs?:p:
I tried it, all it does, is giving you a GUI and letting you choose your Cmos reloaded Banks.
If installed in Windows (waht icertanly wont do) it may even be possible to change settings on the fly. But just not my taste.

I also was thinking about buying the X48 DK, but seeing the FSB Overclocks not maxing out 500MHz i'd rather prefer running my CF on 8/8 and 550MHz FSB than 16/16 and 450 ;) Plus it is also possible to Overclock the PCIe Frequency, so i think there won't be a problem with Crossfire.

Doesn`t make sense. If you usde crossfire you gotta be a gamer. Check out tweaktown and their P45 vs x48 crossfire article. The performance loss with the P45 is massive. Don`t get a P45 if you plan on using crossfire. A few hundred mhz on the CPU clock wont make up for that.

Now the DK is available in my country too. But for 10-15$ more I can buy the DFI LanParty UT P35-TR2 or the DFI LanParty DK X38-TR2B.
The UT P35 temps me because it has digital PWM, 2xGigabit Lan,a full heat pipe and I think an overall better build quality.
But the DK P45 Has 16x PCI-E 2.0, lower power consumption and supposedly better overclocking capabilities.
Don't care much about the DK X38.

Good i found this thread......
I got the same board about a week ago, needless to say, it won't let me budge an inch.
The C1E BIOS appears to be an uncompleted testing BIOS for the board.
Well, the DK P35-T2RS Suffered simillard problems when it was released, i hope that in a week or so we will see a new NORMAL bios instead of this lame joke.
I seriously doubt DFI would release a board that can't even handl 450mhz FSB easily.
Hell, even the P35 Bloodiron does that no sweat!

dam i really dont know if i should buy this board now or the Biostar TPower IP45....any thoughts/suggestions?
I had the TpowerI45 for a week. I needed to find a modified bios (not available from Biostar, got it from rebelshavenforums.com, bios 620) just to run a 9800GTX. Once I finally got that issue resolved other problems appeared. Getting the high FSB under more "normal" conditions was a challange. By normal I mean water cooling rather than LN2/dice/etc., lower FSB/NB voltages, and both cores enabled. I couldn't get 550FSB no matter what I did. And I was using a chip that I know is capable of 575FSB at least. It could have been this particular board and I believe that with Bios updates the board will be much better but that is no different than the Asus/Gigabyte/DFI P45 boards. My suggestion: unless you plan on trying for the 700+ FSB a very few people are getting I would go with an x48 chipset board. Certainly more expensive but much more user friendly IMHO.

I agree with you on that. Sometimes DFI is the last to make it to the field with a new chipset release and I THOUGHT it was because their engineers were working out the kinks. Its very sorry to say, but i wouldn't recommend this mobo in this state. poor enough, trying to get FSB 500 Stable 1,35~1,4V are mandatory to bust on the P45 :( Other Mobos needn't even use 1,25V to hit 500MHz and beyond. The Bios is poorly regarding ram settings, im used to have much more options, dfi ist probably still on the job of making a good Bios.
I looking to have CF, any X48 Bords that hit 500MHz+ "easy" ?

I noticed DFI isn't what it used to be ... They are still my favorite boards but i'll skip p45 and eventually upgrade to P35 LT. If they screw up at this chapter then there is no reason for my to get dfi boards. They are always late on the market but that didn't bothered me, they have poor bundle but that doesn't matter and they used to have a great bios until now :shakes: Wake up DFI. I still hope they release a good bios for this boards. Aldo, they are more expensive than P35LT and i don't see any reason to buy this one...

Asus Rampage Formula hits 500FSB easy enough with dual core 45nm CPUs. However, with 4-core CPUs it stuggles as with any board, though some have had success.

Thanks for that mate.Yeah cf isn't too good on a p45...
Maybe a x48 will be my board or wait for a x58???
I read that review, what the hell is going on with the P45? I thought that 2x PCIe8x 2.0 had the same bandwidth as 2xPCIe16x and that would be enough for modern days videocards even for the likes of the HD48xx series.
I was really surprised to see that large gap in performance which occurs at higher resolutions and AA/ AF.
Didn't expect that the verdict was to buy X38/X48 over P45...
But... this review claims the opposite of the Tweaktown review:
http://legionhardware.com/document.php?id=761
Legion Hardware claims that P45 is faster than X38 and little behind X48 concerning CF performance.
Are both there reviews bollocks? Did they both messed up testing. I would like think that X38 and X48 perform the same, they both run 2x PCIe16x with CF, so how can there be a 10% performance gap?. And how come that with the Legion review the P45 chipset scores rather high and with the Tweaktown review it performs badly?
Conclusion Tweaktown:
This is really a very interesting article and is something people need to be taking note of. The first thing you need to be checking is if you're reading a review where Crossfire is being tested. Make sure that the board there using is a x16 / x16 motherboard. The results really do speak for themselves and it’s clear that there is a performance difference between a x16 / x16 configuration which the X48 offers, and the x8/x8 one on the P45.
If you’re really thinking about going down the Crossfire path, we would be highly recommending that you spend the extra money to go to an X38 or X48 based motherboard over the P45. Of course, if you’re not then it doesn’t really matter. With one card the P45 runs at x16, which is exactly what you want.
Conclusion Legion:
Now when testing with the new hit title Devil May Cry 4 we found that a typical P45 setup is going to be 36% faster than a P35 system at 1920x1200 when running Crossfire Radeon HD 4850 graphics cards for example. The X48 was also roughly 6% faster than the P45 chipset, and I would suggest that this is a best case scenario for the high-end X48 chipset. That said, this did make the X48 around 15% faster than the older X38 chipset. ( you must be joking right? never heard of finetuning c'mon.... )
For the most part the X48 is just 5% faster than the cheaper P45 chipset, while this chipset held roughly the same margin over the older X38 chipset. Therefore as we see it, X38 owners really would need to purchase an X48 motherboard to see any real performance gains, while the P45 is a massive step up from the P35 chipset when talking Crossfire performance.
What happened to clear and trustworthy reviews these days?

That Biostar is not a mainstream board like this, "you have to compare apple with apple"
Other mainstream P45 boards like Asus P5Qpro or Gigabyte EP45-DS3R which are in the same price category usually barely scratch 500mhz.

Pika007 you are right this is a mainstream board but it's more expensive than DFI LP LT P35 witch is better IMO (8 phase digital pwm, ~600FSB...). And there is DKP35 on witch FSB500-520 is no problem with stock voltages. I'm mad becouse it took them too much time to release a bios capable of 500+ FSB and i was expecting more from a DFI board.
I've read in another topic that they are close to release a new bios for DKP45 and it will do 640FSB. That's great for a mainboard in this price range and it will be a winner.

Well I am a bit confused with all this about not overclocking well.
Seeing as im building a new systems soon (First intel build) im getting something in the area of a E8500 and a HD4850, i wanted a alright overclocking board, i dont need that much becuase 3.0Ghz is already a bit much :) But this is going to be my first DFI board.
Is it any good?
Has the problem been fixed? So rather then using the bios in the cd that comes with it, i just download the new one instead?
I have been getting mixed reviews, is it worth getting the mobo and going with P45? seeing as it costs $150. woo

No boards I know of ever had an A0 or A1 chipset. So as the A3 chipsets came out they being pin-compatible were just put in when all older A2 chipsets were gone and then all boards built would have A3 chipset. They do not stop an assembly run just because A2 ran out...they went to A3 and continued on so you could see plus with A2 and A3 but now all produced would be A3 across the spectrum. So far I cannot really see a difference at least as a result of A3 chipset.

I think that is "litle" bat think, because A3 is cooler than A2!
Tomorrow I will get one non plus with A2, and my friend From DFI sector in Serbia promise me that he will get me one PLUS wit A3. So I will compare this two babes.

AU price gouging @ its best
I got my PLUS for $159 @ PCCase Gear (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_711_678&products_id=7791) but now they are selling for $199 so still cheaper than most with the Jnr (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=138_711_678&products_id=8074) only $179 :)
The price increase is partly due to the AU$ freefall
