Which chip is it near the one that you do the VDD mod to that gets hot?
Which slots for Dual channel?
Anything else that gets hot and people dont normally put a heatsink on? Like the chip on top of the board above the mosfets.. or the one to the left of the leftmost ram slot?
I'm stuffing heatsinks on anything that gets remotely hot... 8-)

when look at the board in upright position, the chip directly left of the vdd mod chip is the one that gets hot and sometimes burns out at high voltages.
which slots?
i hear the first 2 from the right are best for overclocking and performance.
umm, the mosfets, the voltage regulator chip right above them, and there's a chip to the left of the voltage regulator that looks like a small mosfet that could use a heatsink.

Well, i had better success using the slot nearest to the CPU socket and also the individual slot to get dual channel on my 8RGA+, hope that helps.
And i've got active cooling in the way of a socket370 stock cooler on the NB and the stock NB cooler, slightly filled on one side to fit on the SB, the SB does really gets hot.

STEvil, nice NB heatsink u've got there :D Is that a SK6+? Coz i'm using the exact same thing on my NF7-S(i choose this bcoz the VDIMM mod will void the warranty on the 8RxA series). What do u plan to use as a hold down? I'm still using zip ties until i can find something good to hold it down ;)

AVC Skived Copper Cooler...
I've got the exact same thing on my 9700np, too.
Pretty much the same thing as the SK-6 and CAK38.
Have zip ties on it right now, work great. Hot glue gun glue will hold the smaller heatsinks on that cant be held by zip ties/etc.

how are you using the zip ties?
do u use more than 1?
are you threading them through the holes, or sumthing entirely different?
