Okay so I just got my motherboard back from RMA. Its an IP35PRO. My PSU is an OCZ 600w.

I put my system back together, lights on come, but system doesnt even turn on. But I learned that if I twist my ATX power connector the PC will turn on but not post.

This is what I did.

My System
OCZ + IP35 Pro

No turn on unless I twist the cable. if I twist then it powers on for about 10seconds and gives Enable ATX powersupply code

Put the PSU in my parents computer and the computer turns on in the first try, no issues

So I took a shuttle power supply I have laying around - horribly under powered for the machine. I plugged in JUST the atx 20pin connector. Will power on (wont post obviously).

So what now? Do my PSU and Motherboard have issues together? Because it will power my parents computer but fail to comply with my IP35pro. But my IP35pro will get powered on by a small dinky psu.

Im going to my work to try a new power supply... but I wish I didnt have to lay out MORE money.

BTW, it was working before. About 1 week and then I had to RMA the board because of a bad fan which shorted out the board. Im afraid it messed up the PSU too some how.

Thoughts?

I am unfamiliar with this board, So I ask which components are near to the ATX Power socket? Twisting the cable would also apply some stress to the components near to the power socket. Problem could lie there. Also are the pins within the power socket on the mobo straight and properly aligned?

I'm kind of thinking it relates to pin contact as well. My current mobo + PSU combo has a similar kind of issue - 99% of the time it turns on fine, that other 1% though I have to give the 24pin bundle a poke (and this is without touching the case in between) and it works. Perhaps one of the pins on your motherboard connector or 24pin plug are just a little too short/bent?

Yup it was the power supply. I went to my work and tested the power supply. Had a bad -5v. When I twisted the cable it sent off all sorts of random signals and such. I bought a CM 750w for crazy cheapness. It works. RMA'ing the OCZ 600w.

The power cable? Im talking about the ATX connect to the motherboard, not the power cable.
