Next cpu upgrade need some advice

Alright so I'm posting this in here because all I typically do with my pc is game my mac I do hw on. But my next upgrade is pretty much what I'm going to be keeping in here for quite some time. Basically all I want to know if any games are going to make use of 4 cores in the near future or not.

Another thing is there any vid cards that actually use pci-e 2.0 yet?

What you are running right now is good for now IMO. I would wait for the next round of video cards and chipsets. The yorksfield is nice but if all you are going to do is use it as game rig then maybe wait for the e8400 wofldale's to drop or just sit on the whole rig and save you pennies for the next round. Of course just my :2cents:

Well I have no doubt a e8400 would be better for gaming but I like multitasking and such running adaware/ chatting between matches or flippin in and out of the game between rounds to surf. Curious how much of a difference running say an antivirus/ or spybot while playing a game would differ between a e8400 and a Q6600 would be

If you really want to upgrade, i'd say, E8400 and 4GB of high speed RAM will speed up ur system alot

Wait for the E8400 to drop a bit, then get one. 4Ghz is pretty obtainable with the E8400, which should help in addition to the added cache.
