I'm just wondering if it's true that you can't mount Intel E5450 CPU's on a D5400XS board, like Intels compadability guide says, or if Intel guide is outdated ? which I seriously hope.

Only a 771 CPU can work on Skulltrail. That means you are restricted to Xeons and the QX9775. Don't forget the fully buffered ram too.

EDIT : Going mad. I think it will work and don't see any logical reason why it wouldn't. It could be the case as you suggested that Intel have not yet update that information sheet. Sorry I couldn't help =p. Maybe I should go to sleep haha.

Woot. Have a look here (http://techgage.com/article/building_an_affordable_skulltrail_system/)

They have the E5450 as an option.

From what I remember, that platform can only use QX9775 CPUs; regular Socket771 chips will not work on it.

MomijiTMO: I really hope so, since I just ordered 2

Telo: No, it supprts normal Xeon CPUS also, just not all, according to Intels own CPU compadability guide, which I'm trying to find out is right or outof date.
