highly doubt that - your talking about blanks arent u? (like so: http://www.petrastechshop.com/siaesl.html)
y would a blank (if this is one) have that weird extension thingy?

It's pretty obviously some kind of brace. For what I have no idea though.

What's that long spike at the bottom? Does it swivel out or move in any way?
How about the pad on the extended portion? Soft, hard, sticky?

Screwed into a pci port slot, the extended portion would be inside the case,
curling around and more or less leaning against the outer side-panel (on a regular mid/tower case),
with the padded portion towards the mb.....

It would only be able to support some larger piece of a plug-in card either above or below the pci slot it's in.

Hmm.....well I'm drawing a blank right now, but I've been intrigued, and want to know what it is too :)

Its for covering the emply slots in the back of your computer, with a handle for inserting and removing it.

I was looking at that pad too. It's the kind you would expect on a load bearing surface that would be in contact with something that would be marred by bare metal - or something fragile that could be damaged. It looks like pads you see on glass tables, but glass, mounting hardware, computer case - sounds odd.

In it's current position, it would imply that was designed to somehow support the case - assuming a desktop/htpc case. But I can't see how that would make any sense.

The idea about it swiveling is good. In the "down" position it would make a good support for something you would hang on the back of the case - or possibly something that was meant to sit on top of the case but hang partly off the back. But unless it's for a tower case, I would expect at least 2 of them.

I see a 2 hour magical mystery tour in my near future.

Hey tiro - you did this deliberately didn't you? You know how many obsessive - compulsives there are here so you figured you'd screw with us, right?

'Mwahahaha - they'll be up for days trying to figure this out. They'll never guess that I made it my basement and that it does absolutely nothing.'

But that's ok. I'll go and do my searches and browse through 10k pix of computer brackets. But just know that there's a special place in hell reserved for you - right below spammers and one level up from benchmark cheats.

Disclaimer - I've been up all night so I'm pretty sure I'm kidding but I'm not sure I trust myself.

Its for securing SLI bridges to the cards, which is fairly useless, and probably the reason why they stopped shipping them out after Nforce4 boards.

So your in agreement that I was in fact correct the first time. Thank you. Since they are now useless as originally intended thay are now simply a slot cover with a handle for insertion and removal. I win!

rofl, these things are so old no one remembers what they are! I knew what it was because I had like 10 of them back in the day, and they were completelt useles then and with dual slot cards they are even more useless now!

I recognized what it was--too bad I didn't post before. Anyways--yes, a SLI connector holder thing... just to keep pressure for the non-ribbon SLI connectors.
