It sounds unbelievable - but I'm doing this with only 1.10 VTT........

Running on chilled water @ 15°C;).

Wow, that's a very nice E8400 you got:up:

Have you also tested max FSB?

Nice but I don't think that deserve new thread. You could post this in E8400/E8500 thread ;)

Try find max FSB and give us some stabillity test at this setup :p:

:D Yep - the Vcore @ 580 FSB is good, but not outstanding. But I never had a chip running 580 FSB @ only 1.10 VTT.........;)

:welcome:

i'm sorry but the majority of those E8xxx chips cant even do 4.2ghz @ 1.45v let alone 4.6 @ 1.4...

not outstanding? it IS outstanding and that air shot with less voltage is even more outstanding.

raise the VTT and drop the vcore maybe???

;) No way - this chip hates VTT - even a raise up to 1.12 causes into a no-boot.....

Nice result . what is the stable setting pls with volt ?

:D You can run it stock speed almost without cooling....:p: - take a look at the Vcore:

This is because probably you have volt bug, and 1.1 VTT from BIOS ~ VTT 1.4 Real, as the most P5K(E) Mobos ;) .

 Hm..., interesting - but I have no P5K, it's P5E64 WS Evolution;).

I agree with Chukundur, your board probably has the so called Asus "volt-bug" where setting Vtt, Vmch, Vpll to their lowest settings is the same as setting them to Auto. This will cause the voltages to automatically increase when the FSB is raised to certain predetermined points.

I can very well be wrong, but the fact your OC becomes unbootable when you increase Vtt slightly from 1.10v to 1.12v is a good indication this unadvertised overclocking aid is present on this board as well. Of course, the only way to find out for sure is to take actual DMM measurements.

Yeah DMM is the way to go. Bios is almost always off, sometimes a little sometimes alot.

 515 is quite low - my previous MAXIMUS EXTREME had FSB wall at ~550.

:D Many X38 board are "famous" for the FSB wall at ~ 550 - did You try another CPU?

Maybe it's CPU limmited...........;)
