Sup i read your fourm alot and i like the way you guys only care about high speed performance like me and dont care about money well some of you dont who just want raw power also like me. anyways i got some problems o yea im new first time postin, anyways some problems

1. i got currently a p4t533 with 1 gig of rdram 32bit modules pc4200 (yea i know sucks i bought this setup in decemeber while back ago when it was the king) all i really did was upgrade video cards when the new ones came out anyways its time for me to get a new MOTHERBOARD RAM and COOLING something very very veeeeeeeeeery powerful for gaming cause i am a hardcore gamer and i want to know from the experts what they think i have a p4 3.06ghz 533fsb cpu

2. i ran 3dmark2001 and all i gotten was a stinkin 6000 points with my ati 9800 pro 256mb and the funny thing is in the video memory category it says 128mb virtual memory how is this possible i got a retial box 256mb it was a dAmn GIGACUBE manft does that some how lower performance from a standard 9800 pro 256mb?

3. so basically i want to get new mobo very power ful im thinkin ABIT MAX 3 i hear is good just came out and im thinkin OCZ 4000 EL GOLD 1 GIG and i got 3.06ghz 533fsb and a gigacube 9800 pro 256mb video card( if somebody can give me some results on this mft i would appericiate it cause i have a feelin a regular ati 9800 pro 256mb can out perform it which i hope not) and basically i want to play all my games at the highest reolstion with 6x aa and 16x af with over 100 fps constant any game and break alot of records as well o yea and im gonna need COOLIN serious one i cant afford a promtia right now dont have 1000 lying around but some intense water coolin that can get me up there plz comments suggestions thoughts on how i can get my goal of doing all my games at the highest reolstion with 6x aa and 16x af with over 100 fps constant i would appericiate.

well right now if your runnin at p4 at 533fsb and ur ram at 200 that could be your problem...running 1:1 is the only way to truelly push the limits in oc'in

Welcome to Xtreme:)

Give it some time to get a response, half the members here are at work right now, but they'll be around this evening and they'll be more than glad to help you out.

For my little bit on your problem, I would recommend selling that 3.06 and getting yourself a 2.8 ( the 800mhz chips), a max3 or p4c800, and ditching the rdram and getting some good ddr. OCZ is a good performer, so is Corsair XMS. Either one of those two brands will handle what you're looking to get out of your rig.

That 9800pro looks decent enough to me, I would say it's everything else in your system holding it back. Plus, when you assemble the new one for the first time, do a clean install with all the right drivers the first time around and that alone will make a big difference.

The 2.8 should acheive somewhere around 3.6 to 4.0 on air without the need for a prometia or vapochill. But the 3.06 won't get anywheres close. Just make sure you've got a decent high performance copper hsf with a high cfm fan on it should be enough, as long as you've got good airflow in the case. Cooling the processor is not the only concern when it comes to cooling. You've also got to maintain a good airflow over all the capacitors, mosfets, and psu to get optimal performance out of everything.

hope this helps :cool:

Ok here goes nothin....
your pc has a FSB..front side bus...400fsb=100x4..533=133x4, and 800=200x4...thats in the p4's
now memory only is x2...that is ddr not rdram
pc3200=200x2=400fsb
pc2700=166x2=333fsb

pentium 4's multiply the fsb x 4, and amd only by 2

so my amd1700 is runnin at 166fsbx2=333 and i'm runin sync w/ my mem at 166x2(pc2700), i ran pc3200 w/ the same proc at 5:6,or proc at 166,mem at 200,hence the 5:6, and actually noticed a performance decrease..hope this helps a little

zzz..u need anymore explanation just PM me!
