Thx Abit, always nice to have a support guy here directly... you will be loaded with IP35-Pro questions for sure... might be better if you dig straight into those threads...

Good luck and plz don't stop making mobo's ( after all the rumours )

Hi Leeghoofd,

The rumours have been well and truly quashed since they started.

We actually contacted Digitimes before they went to press with this nonsense.

They decided to continue going to press with it

I will look into the IP35 threads.

I will have "Gilgamesh" and hopefully "buff" on the case answering the technical questions and posting reviews, etc.

I am simply here for by boyish (cough cough) good looks :D

Regards

Nathan

Cheers buddy

Just to make my position clear to everyone.

I do not work directly for abit, however I work WITH them, same as I work with DFI. My goal and my interest it so push technology forward. So I do tech for both Abit and DFI. I have in a small way contributed towards the heat-sink designs for both manufacturers. However having said this, you can be rest assured all my reviews are totally unbiased, as I have no brand loyalty, only the desire to see tech pushed forward.

SO in essence I am here to help out with all Abit Intel based motherboards.

I've seen you in other threads already, but I thought I would post something in here.

Lets hope we can bring Abit back to its glory days, personally I cant stand the cheap and nasty junk being produced by Gigabyte and Asus.

Wellcome indeed.

Cheers folks

We are already seeing some of those needed changes on abit boards. I havent posted in here that much due to myself working behind the scenes, and working with abit and DFI to get the much needed changes completed. (all im allowed to say on that matter)

We can see some of the changes in effect by the eventual seperation of the PWM and Northbridge Sinks (at last)

I am in the process of working with abit to use screws to hold down the P45 MCH block instead of plastic clips. I have been working with Nathan and TW about this issue!

Needless to say when I get these babies in for review, (im testing all three the MAX (DDR3) PRO (DDR2) and the lower spec orange one:P) I am going to be inspecting the BIOS and see exactly what abit have learned since the x38 quad gt debacle!

Incidently has anyone noticed how much better the IP45 pro layout and heatsink design is than the x38 quad gt? I am relived they have done away with the 'floating' heat sink extendor.

Seconded.

Motion carried through

Mate in my own small way im trying to do just that, we all smile and remember the IC7 MAX 3 :):):)

The IP35 PRO was a GREAT move towards those days, pity the ruined it with the X38 QUAD GT

Rest assured I am doing what I can to prevent a repeat of that.

Same thing I asked in fugger's thread. Is abit all done with sli for intel cpus?

I can see your point. Well if we look at the issues with the 650 and 680 chipsets. THe 650 chipset was really bad for overclocking, the 680 did better but those heat issues=OUCH. How can NVIDIA explain a SOUTHBRIDGE running at 46c idle? It is possible that abit are a wary of nvidia chipsets at this moment in time.

Will confeer with Nathan and TW about this.
