Our extreme bencher mtzki did do some hard work with this setup:

Setup:
QX9770 ES, cooled by VapoChill LS
eVGA and Asus 9800GX2, std cooling
eVGA 790i Ultra SLI (BIOS P05)
2x1GB A-Data X-Series PC3-12800 7-7-7-20
SilverStone OP1000 1000W
WD RE 320GB

eVGA 790i settings:

Vcpu = 1,7 V
Cpu FSB Voltage = 1,3 V
Vmem = 2,1 V
SPP Voltage = 1,45 V
Vmch = 1,65 V
GTLVREF -> -20 mV, -25 mV, -20 mV, -25 mV
P1 & P2 -> Auto (disabled)
mem -> linked + sync, 7-6-6-20 1T

Ambient temperature were close to 30C, but all3DMark Vantage presets did go fine with pretty good clocks. 11x437 MHz (4807 MHz) at CPU and 778/1913/1179 MHz (ROPs/shaders/mem) on GFX cards.

Results: E43026 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=143229), P20082 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=143208), H14120 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=143256), X8414 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=143328).

All presets did give us Hall of Fame placement (http://www.futuremark.com/community/halloffame/), and highest ones are sixth places on X and H.

Thanks to eVGA, Asus and Jimms-pcstore.

hehe to be honest it was a bit of a shock for me to find this thread here. :p: :toast:

The setup ain't that extreme, at least when it comes to cooling, but i guess the scores are somewhat high wrt to the clocks. There's really only one explaining factor for that...sick amounts of aborted runs. :D

Dunno if this has been discussed here before. The situation is similar to what we had with G80 and 3DMark03 (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=130155)...some runs are clearly better than others. Prolly due to sth in the graphics memory either fitting in and sticking there OR falling short of space and getting streamed in constantly. With 9800GX2 this happens especially with Nash (GT1), with 3870x2 CFX i had it mainly in New Calico (GT2). One can see pretty early on how well the run is going by the amount of stuttering.
