Air Conditioner

Hey as summer temps ramp up in my area I've already setup and been using an older Sunbeam AC unit. It's plenty to cool my workshop and it's super duper quiet. I grabbed another Haier brand unit and set it up, but it was so so loud it was ridiculous. That thing is getting returned.

I'm thinking of putting the sunbeam in another room if I can find a quiet, remote controlled window unit to replace it.

Can anyone recommend a quality, very quiet window AC unit between 6000 - 10000 BTU? Best brand?

Funny you mention Sunbeam because I just got a hell of a deal on a discontinued display model 10K btu at circuit city ($130) and yeah it's loud. I put it in the window in my 70 sq ft office with 4 oc'd quads. :D

Wow 10000btu in 70sq foot, you can make ice in that room. Is it the fan that's loud on yours? That's what was lout with the Haier unit - like seriously as loud as a small leaf blower. My old sunbeam is actually the quiet one of the two.

Yeah fan is quite loud even on low. I might be able to make ice with the ac but without it I can bake bread with the 4 quads at 3600 :D
