hey folks
im on the kubuntu live cd atm and i got some problems with raid 0.
when i try to install it it tells me i got 2 hdds. im a bit confused. do i need to integrate a raid driver? in windows i got 1 hdd, 600gb, as normal in raid 0. in kubuntu i get 2 320gb hdds. where is my raid array? did i do something wrong? plz help me, i cant even google sth at that problem
thanks in advance

hm, ok got the following, i dont like kde, so no kubuntu but ubuntu now.
the raid wont work as it does in windows, there are some workarounds for raid 0(dmraid).
its called fakeraid in ubuntu and somewhat wont work. just went off to bed last night and installed tomorrow morning ubuntu.
still got only a clean install and yet need to do all the stuff. maybe i can find out how to get raid0 working in ubuntu.
ill report back just in case anyone else can need that stuff. google is sometimes really hard :/

alrite, done another reinstall.
this time i got my 2 hdds to work properly, but not in raid.
i got my emails up and running, pidgin works.
i like the look and feel of it.
still need to do wine for lineage 2 and photoshop
and the most evil thing is: update only through the synaptic package manager
next thing i need to do is to install xmms2 and some themes with vu,
but no idea from that stuff right now as im currently in school and will update
when im @ home.
alrite, break time now; catch you laterz

Did this with 8.04, had no problems. Firstly you need to use an "Alternate Ubuntu CD" look on your linux mirror, you'll find one of the ubuntu ones has alternate in the name for ubuntu/kubuntu or 32/64bit one for all versions.

Use the partitioning section from the alternade CD to set it up along the lines of this link below. (Works identical for raid 0).
