Hi,

I have an impression that if one attempted to position this huge HS horizontally it wouldn't fit because of this memory's height, considering it's about twice the height of other ordinary mem.

Am I right or wrong here?

depends, if its close the fans shift a little left and right a bit but if you want to be sure I personally would just not choose that heatsink for a build if I'm looking at non-standard height Ram.

The GeminII I believe doesn't work with OCZ Reaper memory, due to clearance, and I believe that the Geil Black Dragon Evo One memory is about the same size, so I doubt that it would fit.

There is a single heatpipe that gets in the way. You can bend it a little to make it work. I had to do that because my Mushkin memory did not fit initially.

Interesting solution... :) Well, if it really doesn't fit I might try to install it vertcally then. Mobo is GigaByte GA-X38-DS4. Hope it doesnt lean on video card or something, though. :)

Thank you all!

It will not fit vertically unless you have a GIANT tower. Positioned vertically down it will hit the video card unless you put your graphics in the farthest slot down on the motherboard. Although I am unsure if that will actually work or not. Positioned vertically upwards it will hit the power supply or the top of the tower (depending on tower orientation). Positioned backwards it will hit the back of the tower. This cooler can really only be put in one way.
