This is what I want to do.

Note that the data is smaller than the amount of free space available. It should fit.

However Acronis True Image 11 Home wants to copy all of the free space along too

It wants to copy the whole 640GB partition, but won't shave off the free space no matter if I pick automatic, or any of the last options.

Help?

can't you resize the 640gb partition to a smaller size, and then move it to the other hd? btw, use gparted. Good free stuff.

try moving E: to disc 2 then move the whole lot back to disk 1

why are you using clone disk? it's the wrong tool for your specific need... you just need to image the partition.... then dump it on a another partition.

get out of dsk utilities and use backup/restore..
