I've upgraded to the latest bios (ver 13) few days ago (through dos) and since then i have a strange problem. The multi doesn't drop when idle even if c1e and eist through bios are on auto. This happens when i change dram speed (cpu : dram) from the default option to something else ex. 1:1.25 etc. and in a few others situations of o/cing which with previous bios ver 12 didn't happen. My system is 100% stable. This doesn't happen at default option or with a little o/cing without changing the dram speed. I played a litte with the options c1e and eist but nothing changed. With previous bios (ver 12) i didn't have this problem. Has anyone noticed something like that?

Sorry eddie, missed this one. Have you tried clearing CMOS? Perhaps it just needs the cobwebs cleared out to work for you. Give this a whirl:
Remove power from the system.
Hit the power button to discharge the capacitors.
Move the CCMOS jumper (or switch) to the clear position.
Wait ~30 seconds.
Place the jumper (or switch) back in the normal position.
Restore power and boot up immediately into BIOS.
Select "Load Optimized Defaults" and then set the recommended voltage for your RAM.
Save & exit.
On reboot, go directly into BIOS and set any other settings you wish, such as timings for your RAM, boot order, etc.

Sorry Eddie, I have no idea; most people I know just have them disabled from the get go and never try them. Apologies.
Saveus, IMHO, go with the Pro. X38 was somewhat EoL even as the chipset made it to market. The Pro is a more mature board that also happens to be available for very cheap now.

only reason would be for Crossfire performance - dual x16 PCI-E2.0 versus x16+x4 PCI-E 1.x on the Pro.

oh yea well with the 480 performance numbers i think crossfire wouldnt be that bad an idea. darn it. i hate the whole way hardware keeps changing so soon..
