This probably doesn't count since it's not computer equipment. I went to a municipal auction many years ago and they had a microfilm reader/printer up for auction. It was the old wet toner type and it was a beast. But it was brand new. Nobody knew what it was so I got it for $15. Turned around and sold it to a small local newspaper for $500. Ka-ching!!!

Got my current Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2-800 DHX for $36 AR... well this one will be a good buy once I get the rebate, I'm still waiting

Dinner for my girl friends and female friends countless of times, I guess. I have payed so much for so little, through the years, it isn't really funny.

Concerning hardware, it was probably a pair of relatively cheap GEil DDR RAM, that did DDR 133/266 CL1.5 0.0.0.0 T1 @ 3.1V dual channel.

Not that uncommon, and I have never actually confirmed, if they really did those timings, but all indications were they actually did, as raising timings did have measurable effects (others in here have probably had similar / better results in here). They also did DDR 239/479 CL2.0 2.2.2.5 T1 @ 3.0V. They were not BH5, I know that for sure.

Oh, I forgot: A mint not "broken seal" Steel Battalion box / setup for <180$ back then.

Get some 90 degree barbs for that radiator.

Also turn your pump 180 degrees, I can't see why you put it the way you did.

http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/3593/imgp12122largetr5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

Same case, same rad, same pump.

06-03-2008, 12:16 PM
Yeah, I know... I need to find a way to unglue that pump though lol, its stuck to the case. I tried taking it off when I was redoing the loop but it didnt work out too well. Also, can you get me a picture with a better view of the radiator please? Thanks.

Edit: Also, a picture showing how you did the wire management would be nice lol.

Double edit: A tutorial on how you painted the case and how to completely took it apart would be awesome. I really like how you did it.

Omfgsomanyedits edit: Is this the one that will fit with the h20-220's radiator? Wont they reduce flow too?

aspire.comptech
06-03-2008, 01:52 PM
To get the pump unstuck take a hairdryer to the base of the case where the sticky pad is. The heat will melt the adhesive. You can then clean it up with some goo gone.

Heres a full size pic of the back of my case.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/aspire727/IMGP0069Edit.jpg

Here are two quick pics of some of my wire management.

http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/3593/imgp12122largetr5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/5431/imgp1199largeky6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

In regards to painting the case.

1. Take off the front panel.
2. Drill out rivets on the front and back of the top panel.
3. Drill out the one rivet attaching the disk drive rack to the top panel on each side of the rack.
4. Remove top panel.
5. Remove front usb and audio box and wires.
6. Remove plastic feet on the bottom.
7. Tape off the bottom brushed aluminum edge along the sides of the base of the case.
8. Scuff up the easily exposed surfaces with high grade sand paper.
9. Lay down primer and paint.

Depends how old your radiator is. If it is new one it needs the 1/4" NPT if it's an older model, more than a year or so. It needs the 3/8" NPT.

I recently purchased some black ones from these guys.

http://www.moddersmart.com/

Cheap and first class shipping = :D

*Note that you need to use PTFE tape on the plastic barbs to ensure a good seal.

l33t p1mp
06-03-2008, 03:14 PM
Cool, thanks a lot. My rad is new, so I guess 1/4 for me.

Edit: Nah, I am fine without the tape, I am using 7/16 on half inchers.

aspire.comptech
06-03-2008, 04:20 PM
The tape goes on the threads of the fittings to prevent leaks as the swiftech radiators don't have o-ring seals.
