The mods made a very good point in the original thread, sorry about the people left out but life isn't always fair. Use 1.55 from now on and keep the older benches that were submitted before the rule change.

RB and others stated the reasons for the policy change and I agree, in the end even if I didn't agree it is their site and their decision, if you don't like it then don't submit results with the older hardware.

+1 on what Jimmy posted. HWBot has to look out for the best interest of the majority of the people who use their site. Although this puts wPrime benchers of old hardware at a disadvantage becuase of version differences, that must be accepted. Since older versions had cheaters etc, allowing those versions again would just enable the cheating again. Also you seem to be going into this with a rather pessimistic attitude. In a previous thread they said wPrime author was working on a new version which restores speed to older cpu's. Why dont you wait to see how it pans out, since coding programs can be time consuming, it may take a while. In the meantime just bench Superpi or PCMark etc.

Personally I'd separate them by app for the time being until it can be worked out.
One listing for 1.55 and one for the older versions.
Then you know your comparing apples to apples.

but how will you award HWBoints then? the whole system would topple over as people who benched Wprime before 1.55 will have a very nice advantage over those who joined the game recently
