Might as well wait until mid June when more will be published on the the P45. You might end-up kicking yourself if you jump on an X48 now and find out in 3-4 weeks that P45 would have been a better choice...

hmm interesting.. so it seems they will perform overall basically about the same for the most part.. i wonder if the p45 will end up getting better though as more bios work is done..

Basically from the bios screenshots of Asus P45 P5Q, it has all the advanced tuning options like we've seen in the Asus X48 Rampage. There is one difference I've noticed, which is there are two CPU GTL reference voltage options. As to why there are two, I'm not really sure at this point but my guess is it has a direct relation to the hardware upgrade of 16phase to compliment even finer CPU tuning. Other than that, rest of the bios options are the same as X48. If you're familiar with the X48 Rampage bios, you will find Asus P45 series bios to be very easy. That is, you must first understand the relation between NB volt, NB and CPU GTL reference voltages, CPU PLL, CPU VTT (FSB VTT), and DRAM SKEW options.

Yeah, Asus boards seem to have some bugs despite several BIOS iterations. DFI boards in my experience are just rock solid. I will never go back either.
