I noticed some apps and games are heavily dependent on cache size for max performance. I would like to know whether a quad could maximise it's cache usage when an app or game only uses two threads. In this scenario, I would like to compare an E6850(3G, 4MB L2) and QX6850(3G, 8MB L2). Let's assume this game only uses two threads. For the dual core, each thread will get 2MB(4MB/2) while for the quad, each tread will get 4MB(8MB/2). Will the game peforms better on the quad if it can utilize the whole 8MB of cache? I haven't tried any games yet but if I prime using two threads, I notice that my CPU0 and CPU2 will be nearly 95% while CPU1 and CPU3 around 10-20%. This means Advance Smart cache is working well, with 4MB from both CPUs being utilized.
