Hi guys,

Bit of a noob question here but it's pretty much the first time i've wanted to remove wiring from any of my components so I want to make sure I don't break anything before I do it.

I've got some Akasa AK-174BKTB 120mm that have built-in thermal sensors to automatically adjust their RPM, located in the hub of the fan. You can just about see the sensor and it's location in this pic (http://www.akortek.com/popup_image.php?pID=148&type=jpg&osCsid=f9c19c18f2f576b204c60dd86e443f7c)
I wanted to put these onto my fan controller so I can adjust them myself so I don't want the sensor to interfere.

So my question is, how would I go about removing it?
Would it just be a case of twisting the sensor so the legs cross, shorting it out to bypass it or would this be damaging to the fan in any way?

even twisting it until it shorts the leads works on some fans if there is enough wire there.

Thats what I was thinking, there is enough wire to do that, its like an LED sticking out of the fan housing.
I read about someone doing it but didn't want to risk damaging the fan.

Thanks for the replies guys
