View Full Version : Scratch on Motherboard.

Hey so i was taking out my video card, and i think i scratched it while taking it out, its very small and its white, its right by my pci-e slot, is this something that should worry me?? thanks..........also system seems to be working fine.

first calm down. the only way to confirm this is to test it.
Since you say is next to the main pci-e, I would suggest you run 3dmark a good amount of times to see if you see any problems.

Well.....i ran 3dmark 2 times, ran TF2 and crysis for about 30 mins each, seems to be normal.

Shouldn't be too big of an issue, most of the stuff on top is a layer of coating designed to protect from scratches anyways

Hope your right, if it gives me problems, ill just get a new board, nothing else i can do.

I scratched the back of MB behind socket on my P5WD and it was a very bad looking scratch. Also my P5K Premium actual board got some scratches in the back because of the so tight distance between push pins holes and electronic circuits. I can understand your anxiety, I know what is it, but both boards never showed any issue

I wished I could take a picture of my Striker's back, I slipped with my screwdriver when popping off the push pins, and made a 10cm scratch... pretty deep too... but board still works fine...
