I have 4GB with a 32-bit OS in my computer with Adobe ImageReady to make GIFs. It basically takes a bunch of pictures and pastes them together and saves it as a GIF. I have a folder with ~50MB of files, and ImageReady says not enough memory available to complete this operation.

I'm running Vista (fresh install) and don't have any other programs running, besides AV. Might try turning those off. My questions is, is ImageReady that resource hungry? Needs more than 3GB of RAM to make a GIF from 50MB of .jpg?

I've mad gifs before using image ready with 60MB of Jpegs, with 1GB of RAM, choked through it, but it did just fine

That's just it. I don't know why it's error-ing. Strangets thing too, when I have the images loaded, it'll give me an error when accessing Help>About. Not enough memory? WTF?

well, vista 32bit with 4GB acts sometimes like XP with 4GB, it hates it. Complians about low mem and so on...
Its bound to upper memory hole and adress limits for 32bit system.
However, im using Srv2008 64bit on 8GB and everything works. nothing is complaining...
at home im at Vista 64b at 4GB and its working like a charm.

32bits arent made for 4GB...
