Hi as title says I am getting really high temps in uGuru under PWM.

PWM Idle 56

PWM Load 115

Any ideas on how to best lower these temps ?? would placing a fan over this area make a world of difference ? I did plan to go up to 3.8GHZ but at these PWM temps I wont be able to.

Would you class these temps at something to worry about ??

You better post this in the ip35 main thread m8. Usually get better reply there. 115 is super high...probably gonna blow your FET off if you run it for a long time. You know quad stress the pwm right. I usually have a sweat if my pwm go above 60 but that 56 idle seem sucks... Yea you need to active cool your pwm and nb if you gonna oc it...better go to aftermarket cooling if you plan to go 3.6-3.8ghz.

I would look if theirs good contact with the heatsinks and the PWMs, I have dropped my temps drastically by installing a big chunky 25Cm fan in my sidepanel (though I'm watercooling so the air gets nicely near my P5K dlx PWM area...

Try an antec spotcool ( very easy to fit and speed adjustable )

Do the bolt mod (it's in the Abit IP35 Pro thread), and jam a 60mm fan in there if you can.

doesnt the bolt mod include soldering ? if so I dont have the skills to do it.

Might consider just selling the board and getting a much better board that will handle PWM temps better.

Or what about water cooling the N & S bridges would that reduce the PWM temps ?

if ya currently running watercooling on the CPU plz try my Antec spotcool suggestion and place that fan over the PWM area...your PWM area just lacks airflow in that case It's so easy to mount and can be directed anyway you want too... the Bolt mod replaces the push pins with a screw and a nut, nothing much to it, but helps to keep the heatsink on the PWM's for better contact...

Or what about water cooling the N & S bridges would that reduce the PWM temps ?You need to take all the sinks off and clean them. Clean the nb/sb too. Put new thermal paste on everything, you can reuse that thermal pad on the mosfets if you want, I used ceramique. Do Ace's bolt-mod (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=2330347&postcount=751).
