Sorry guys, i have not been running any clients lately. I did for about 3 months, and my power bill went through the roof! They increased our rate by 15% a few weeks ago, along with the higher cost of living period..i just can't have several cpu's humming along 24/7 doing this great work.
I didn't make it that far, but put in a good effort. Maybe i will keep one dual core machine on duty, but that is it. I have turned to running only a few bulb's in the home, and not even running the TV more then an hour or two a day at most.
Not sure what happned, i only had a few rigs going, but the bill was almost 500 bucks..with summer kicking in here in las vegas..it get's very hot so alot of that is A?C
maybe in the winter
been fun

Ouch man that hurts, $500  and 15% increase.. ouch. Sorry about that.
Thanks for helping out what you did  Maybe going outside of vegas electricity would be cheaper for you?

Elec is a killer and serlv has been telling me about the temps in Vegas the last few days.
Suggestion on the lights, get some of those 13w flourscents and use them instead of the normal 100w and 60's you have in the house.
They really do cut the elec bill.
Tried them for the first time last winter in the high usage lights in the house.
First month my bill drops by $14.00, second by $16.00. They do help and they are guaranteed for 5 years. I think I paid $10.00 for a 4 pack at the local supermarket.
The one downside is that you can't use them in lights with dimmers, that will kills them.
Good Luck.

My bill was 454.00 for last month, I looked at the fuel surcharge on it and looked at one from January and it alone had went up like 65.00. I am cutting down also, as it gets hotter and fuel keeps going up it's only going to get worse...

The bill here was over $600 last month, and it was even coldish then... But this household isnt exactly the power saving type. The only reason im trying to save some power where i can in my room is to help cool it down in here. Its normally about 10-20ºF warmer in my room than the rest of the house... Ugh.

Try those bulbs I mentioned above.
They aren't 'The" answer but they do help.
13w vs 100v in all your lights will make a difference that you can see on your bill.
Think on it this way, if Q6600 draws 220w constant, then replacing 6-100w bulbs with the 13w ones can almost bring that PC's usage to zero electrical cost or damned well minimise it.
I tend to read app 2 hours a night before sleeping.
Had a 100w bulb in the wall mounted fixture behind the bed.
Changed that out intentionally on the day that started my one month reading of the elec meter.
Made for an $8.00 decrese in that next month..Just one damned bulb.
That sold me.
Now take that and multiply times all the bulbs you use daily.
There is money to be saved and not just a little.

^ Yea, those bulbs are great for some, but i just cant stand the 1/2 second delay for them to startup, and several mins more for them to warm up and put out the full light output, wich is then subpar. I desire a whole lot of instant on light, and CFL isnt that. But it dosent matter much anyways, im not in my room much. My normal location would be the basement, where my little workbench is. And thats 450w of fluorescent, so thats a good savings over the 1200w of incandescent that was there a few years ago.
And besides, im 18 and live with my parents, i dont pay the bill anyways. ;)

Wooow man, Vegas is insane. I think it's great if you just kept one going, i'm sure with all those rigs crunching your place turns into an oven  I've been there on a 115F day so i think it's best you stay alive first :D

4 gpu's and 6 cpu cores pumping full load in one room here, can't wait for the winter
These solar panels should work nicely in Vegas, maybe (it's) popularity will go up in North America soon?

I install tubular skylights near Vegas (I live in St. George and have cheap power.) In rooms that need light in the day they are great, don't let in much heat, and I think there is even a energy star tax write off. If my wages go down I may slow down my folding. I fold for another team.

Don't feel to bad slowing down, since you fold for another team :p:,
Looks like I've got some major (electric ) savings coming my way:
my K9A-2 Plat. a 4 PCIe x16 slot mobo just kicked the bucket:(
Took about 2 days to figure it out: kept freezing with the Phenom in it so
naturally I blamed the CPU,put in an X2 seemed to work for a little bit then
wouldn't start. To make a long story short after examining it for the 5 th time I noticed a black spot just under a heat pipe on top of the mosfet. Took a closer look and one of the 4 " little squares" is completely fried.

My electric bill was 80 dollars last month.
If you have your PC on 24/7, doesn't it add about 7 dollars?

ugh, I've heard of this happening with recent MSI boards burning up stuff :(

Maybe if it's eepc idling:rofl:
1.
Probably depends on where you live (different rates)
2.Full load (as in 4 cores) 24/7 will use a lot more than idling 24/7 add the OC and the extra Vcore for that OC.
In some cases it's also GPU's @ full load in addition to the cpu cores, take all that and multiply by 3 or 4 or more (the number of PC's a person has)
Add AC cost to keep things nice and cool
Add it all up=

In my case, I pay about 40 CAD per a non-OCed quad. But, in Canada, you pay power bill every 3 months, so it's 40/3 per month. OCed quad uses substantially more power.
I will probably have to power down a rig or two when my power protection plan is expired.

replaced all the bulbs
hope it helps.
when winter hits i will be building a new machine maybe..so might use the quad just for F@H and 8800GTS for F@H.
winter is no problem, i leave the air off.
