Work laptop is an HP Compaq 6910p.
First image is at idle, next is a few seconds at full load
After the fans kick on at full load it brings the load temps down to the same as the idle temps, because HP in their wisdom decided to set the fans to keep the CPU at
So how long do you suppose this laptop will last...
By the way, windows 2000 and multi core CPUs don't work together very well

:lol2: no it won't, I don't own the laptop, work does and wouldn't appreciate it if something happened to it ;)

Win2K works perfect with Dualcore cpu's, you just need to install the ACPI Multiprocessor HAL.
Anyways welcome to the scam that is notebook/laptops. Poor design, poor cooling, poor etc.

O i agree on that. My ASUS X20E intel T2310 cpu gets 70c idle, 85c full load, and above 90c when slightly overclocked. The thing gets really warm. I'm sure it will infect the quality of my sperm when i have it on my lap. Only 1.46ghz and even then killing my nuts. Even the keyboard gets insanely hot. Really poor design, but i guess that counts for most laptops.
Edit:
Almost forgot. I had that laptop on my desk maybe 2, 3 weeks ago. I never had heat issues and the laptop was very quiet. The fan didn't always spin and when it was on it wasn't loud. The plastic didn't get warm like my Asus X20e does.
