Question about hooking up xbox to my comp

Sorry, I am about to ask some really dumb questions:
First can I hook up the regular AV out put from my xbox(original xbox) into the HD input on my 8800 GTS?
If so which colors correspond?

Um, im prety sure that connection is for video OUT, not in.

And of course if your going to be connecting two devices, the color would go to the same color.

Are you trying to play the xbox on your monitor, or record things off the xbox?

I want to play off my monitor. Note that it is very old.

2 ways i see doing this:

If your monitor has dvi-out and vga-out, then find a way to get the xbox to output in vga.


buy a tv tuner card (with YRW connections) and put it in you computer.

for u to plug ur xbox into ur vid.card, ur vid.card would have to handle video in - which it does not.

To use your monitor with your 360 you have to buy the official XBOX 360 vga av cable.
