hey
05-17-2008, 05:38 AM
hey guys, that's is the result of a few hours. it is too bad had not trimmer to mod for Vdroop so that is maybe that is why cpu was not very stable at 1m etc., vcore was 2.016v but i was waving around 1.935-2.016 :( .
Well, then we just did some max mhz trys. Although got 6153mhz, coul not validated it, we didnt try to disable cores, since it makes no sense in case of a quadcore validation:).Another thing was our only probe has been broken:( , i tried to fix it but i cant say i was very unsuccessful , with the wrong readings, cold boot was at -140c, while cold bug is at around -174c. i hope next time we will be more lucky :D. One more thing, i any case system could not boot with multiplier higher than 14x .btw, mabo rocks with new 5a bios
well, that is all for all short-time benching sesion :)

Nice one... I had two QX9770 recently, both total crap and not even benchworthy. Small wonder as they were both L803 :shakes:

I confirm your words ,but the bios on X48-DS5 isn't finished .F5 and F6b same probleme . About the FSB on boot with the setting ram ( Standard ,Turbo and Extreme ).

How high can you bench 3D?

I see everybody with +150 on cpu skew ,me too .
I think it's a good setting .
What's your skew for MCH ? +100 for me.

05-17-2008, 12:42 PM
this cpu is insane with 1.86 volts 3dmark06 stable is +5650 mhz , with drop mod we can reach +5800 mhz 3d06 stable .. We will make some 3dmarks with 3870x2 , this is the best quad core that we have up to now. We can show really good results with in this week.

After long period of time (1months ) we smell LN2 vapor. Best gaseous to smell:)

what about a benchmark @ 6 GHz with all four core enabled ,
Nice result . congrats

Because of the vdropp 2.0v -> 1.93v under load, we couldnt bench at that speeds. The chip was only spi stable at 5.8 GHZ..

i guess real reason is not vdroop, i know it, but wont tell you until next session :p: ,i believe this chip will also rocks for spi-3d etc..

AWESOME clocks guys!! That is a beautiful thing to see a quad at those speeds. But I had one question...

haha, you dont understand firing up the isolation is the best tweak on max mhz

What do you mean by this? You heat up the insulation? Or the copper pot? Please explain :)

hey

eheh, the mount of our pot is so narrow and also we use use toilet paper for more isolation in any case of condensation, it also helps isolation of pot since it keeps air through its helical.Heating insulation is just a joke, because of our heatguns' mount is big and mount of pot is smaller, sometimes paper got fired :p: , thats all :D

here is an old foto from a previous run with coldbooted maximuss :P ;) , white things all around the pot is toilet paper :D
