I'm thinking of getting these headphones here (http://shopping.discovery.com/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10000&storeId=10000&productId=23324&langId=-1&search=Y&searchKey=-391273814)...
What do you think? Is it worth it?

No.

Surround effect is limited with headphones, to make the claim that their product can somehow magically create a movie environment is silly.

They're expensive headphones, that's it.

I might try them. The great thing about headphones is they are right on your ears so all outside noises are blocked out. Great for total immersion.

I know, I use them when mastering/recording music for that exact reason... but that alone is not a good reason to buy THESE headphones.

True, I just think if they are making claims to Surround Sound then it should at least be better than regular headphones. Plus they are wireless which is always a plus. I suppose I could go to the discovery store in Baltimore and check them out there. I'm pretty sure they let you put them on and listen.
