hellow bros! :welcome:

i had c2d e6750 and changed to E6850

mobo: asus maximus forumula
cooler: CoolerMaster HyperUC

@ old one temps was:
Mobo: 29C
CPU: 23C
Core1: 32C
Core2: 32C
NB: 33C
SB: 34C

but after up-2-grade: Temps rised UP!
Mobo: 35C (+6C)
CPU: 35C (+12C)
Core1: 45C (+13C)
Core2: 45C (+13C)
NB: 38C (+5C)
SB: 39C (+5C)

is this normal temperature for E6850 (cooled by HyperUC)

maybe the thermal paste hasn't broke in yet or you got a hot chip

could be a bad install?
something's concave?
not enough or too much thermal paste?
mounting pressure?

there's a number of factors

remounting using the same method several times can yeild different temperatures. anyone here can tell you that.

since other temps have gone up so much, have you swapped or removed a fan? added extra cabling?

you could always revert back to the old chip to see if temps return to normal.

to give you an example, after installing a new cpu a friend of mine was concerned about temps, when he reverted back to the old chip, temps were still high. turns out he had to do a bios update for the new processor and the change affected temperature readings.
