Im not 100% sure, but I would guess the Max3 will still have issues with the orginal promie as do almost all of the CW/SD mb's. I also think this is a trend that is here to stay, the new winbond chips do not hold the reset like the older ones and handle the reset in a different way. The promie II uses a new controll unit that resolves this issue, and promies to work with any future mb.
I run my pormie with a seperate PSU, and start up the computer manuyally just like normal once the promie reaches a desired temp. I like this better really for benching since I don't have to wait for the promie to start back up if I need to power down the mb to change something.

The Promie draws less than 2amps @12v so it don't take much to power it.

I was figuring about 300mA for each fan and far less than that for the controll circuitry and 12v relay. I Ifound a 12V 1A power supply and am going to give her a shot.
Hi Guys,
Can you tell me how to do the mod woth the seperate PSU(not a computer PSU)?I'm using a normal computer PSU to boot up the prommy before the PC,but I think such a small 1A psu would be better. Can you explain me which psu are suitable for the mod?

The one that i am using currently is a 12V 1A Power adapter from Radio shack. It works just fine all you do is the positive end to the yellow wire on your prommy's Molex connector and the negative to the Black. Then plug it into the wall. You can use a multi meter or the diagram on the box to figure out the polarity of the connector.
12v Converter from radio shack (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F009%5F001%5F001%5F001&product%5Fid=273%2D1776)
