You can't use the same key. As for the hardware:

DFI LP LT X38-T2R
Q9450, Q6700, or E8400 (in this order, best to worst)
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 1000
2xATI Radeon 3870 512MB

u can get teh dfi x38 for like $230 the x48 for like $270 and asus is $300 or $360 so why pay more for a more basic board, and dfis digital pwm is awsome

Well in newegg.com Asus Rampage is just 290 I think it is almost the same spec as DFI x48 with ddr2 one and they both almost the same price is DFI perform better?

is DFI LANParty UT X48 T2R and DFI LANParty UT X48 T3R only different in DDR2 and DDR3?

what is PWM?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulse-width_modulation

there are digital and analogue and i like digital much better than analogue now that i have a digital it has much better control and finer tunning as well as no vdroop

but i would say that the dfi is better

What monitor are you using?

I'd put part of that $ toward an upgrade if you haven't recently.

oh I got a real old 17" 4:3 LCD from Viewsonic. Yeah I agree I think I should upgrade the montior too. But Basically my cpu and Mobo just burned so I must grade them and the GC I just don't like it, so I am planning to buy either 2 3870 or a 4870 later this month. So since I am upgrading I am so debate to get DDR3 or DDR2

how? and are you planning on burning the next ones aswell? if so why not get an e1400/e7200 plus a dfi t2rs.

and you'll have to wait for 4870.

and get a nicer screen.

i take it yr ram is not burnt?:hehe:

PS: if you having trubbble burning the 1300$ (lol) then im sure ddr3 plus an expensive mobo plus a9800gx2 and a q9450 would make a sizeable dent in that figure.:confused::brick::rofl: and not too much left over for a better screen....:(:hehe::rolleyes:

very simple I was idiot enough to drop water to my pc and some how smoke came out before I pull off the plug and then I tested each item the Mobo and Cpu Dead. and from now on I will never drink and play game at the same time.

i dont think $1300 is budget.

yes a little over but not much,

Q9450-279.99 (fry's)
Maximus II formula-269.99(egg)
G.skill 8800 4gb-149.99(egg)
HD4870-309.99(egg)
2x160gb raptor-300(ebay)
120extreme-50(central computer)
so sub total 1359.96 + tax and shipping(some of them)
grand total I spent about 1500

So what made you go for the Maximus II Formula instead of the DFI board?

It is going to sound silly but this is just me, I like to try the P45 and I just like the board design (layout) and also the sound card plus the color of the board.

Ah, well, to each his own. :) I'm still trying to hash out the details of my new system, I've got everything nailed down except whether to use DDR2 or DDR3. Seems there is no difference in performance, only in the $210 different in price between mobo/ram.

I'm leaning towards the asus maximus 2 formula myself, but also considering the DFI LP LT x38/x48 boards. (T2R) Just can't make up my mind..

I was thinking the same think few days ago too but end up I go with Max II. The other reason I went to Max II is it is just newer. I always think newer the better.
