Hello,
Am looking for a program like U3 that comes with Sandisk/Kingston USB Sticks.
http://www.u3.com/
With a U3 smart drive you can plug into any PC and work, play a game, message friends, send email, edit photos and more. A U3 smart drive makes any PC your own PC. And when you unplug it, it leaves no personal data behind.
Are there alternatives like that for other USB drives? (Have a Corsair Flash Survivor).
It doesn't have to support much programs, only looking for Email (Thunderbird) and Internet (Firefox) programs.
Just to check email and logging in to my Banking account and Credit Card account in Hotels and other public PC-area's.
Thanks for the help.

Afaik those so called 'secure' sticks aren't really working anyway. If you really want that, boot the pc from the usb stick ( some linux variant ), enough browsing and email software available and when you turn the pc off, POOF everything is gone :)

Thought of that myself..
But, in some hotels/apartments where i stay you have some stupid 'counter' that counts how many money you putted in and how many minutes you have left.
This does he in Windows, so restarting the PC in Linux doesn't work for those.
Also those 'secure disks' (U3 then) what's wrong with it?
It installs Firefox U3 on the stick and also saves cookies and all the :banana::banana::banana: that comes with browsing, on the USB stick. My dad has one from Sandisk w/U3 but want something for my own drive ><
He doesn't leave anything behind then or?

I don't quite understand what your asking for...
If you want to hide files on the stick, I suggest you simply download TrueCrypt and encrypt the entire USB drive, or make a TrueCrypt dynamic volume on it.
If you want to install applications on it (I'm not sure exactly what U3 does) I simply suggest finding portable versions of the software you want (Check out PortableApps, they have portable versions of Firefox and many other useful programs).
If you could clarify exactly what you're wanting to do it would help.

A program that allows me to login to my Banking account, Credit Card page, Email etc.
And makes sure that there are no traces left behind on the (public) PC.
What U3 does, you fill the password and login in the U3 software, one time.
After that, you click on the link 'Bank account' and he goes straight there without filling in passwords and etc.
He logs direct into the Account page.
So no chance for keylogger etc.
And after you're done, he deletes the cookies and other garbage.

I dunno, a keylogger generally reports all keystrokes that are input into the PC it is on, so that seems kind of useless; and if you're running Firefox Portable, all the cookies and settings are stored on the USB drive, and not the computer, which seems much more safe than using the browser installed on the PC.

O ok, thought, if there is a Keylogger on that Public PC, and i fill in my Login name and after that my Password ... etc.
Thanks for the link, i think 'PortableApps Suite (http://portableapps.com/suite)' is what i need =D
Will check it out, thanks!

well if theres a keylogger installed on the public PC that you are browsing on, all keystrokes will be logged, even if you use a "portable" version of firefox.
you could try keyscrambler for firefox, but that won't work agianst hardware keyloggers.

Think i found a program that does that what i'm searching for:
KeePass Password Safe (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/keepass.html)KeePass Password Safe is a secure password manager that allows you to store your sensitive login information in an encrypted database. It allows you to organize your entries into categories and offers several ways to conveniently enter your username/password; you can use drag and drop, copy to the clipboard, or create auto-type sequences that can enter the login information with a single click. The program also includes support for TAN passwords and allows you to create TAN lists which automatically expire a password once it has been used. Other features include password generator, auto-lock, database search, import/export, and more. KeePass Password Safe supports a plugin framework. that allows you to extend the functionality using various (free) plug-ins. Standalone, no install needed.
Anyone knows/works with this program?

Oh yes, I hope my post didn't give the impression that Firefox Portable guards against keyloggers or anything. I was simply trying to say that Firefox Portable stores all its cookies and settings on the USB drive.

Will a combination of:
Firefox Portable, Keyscrambler and KeePass work for public computers?
Where Firefox Portables stores all the cookies etc on the USB drive.
Where Keyscrambler protects against software-Keyloggers.
Where KeePass gives me a direct-login link with password etc. all filled in?
Does this help against a potential risk on public PC's?
