Every so often I see new names pop up under the team roster in the stats, yet I rarely see them post up here and introduce themselves! And unfortunately most of them don't stick around :(
All you new guys to the team, :welcome: Kick back, stay awhile, get to know us and let us get to know you! We don't byte! (OK OK lame attempt at being funny :p:)

You said it yourself, I'm addicted. You know I can't leave now.
That said... if anyone has some crunching computers they want to run but can't due to electricity costs... uh... let me know. I'll run them for you, but I can't guarantee the points would be in your name. :wasntme:

SparkyJJO, you are an inspiration to us all. What a kind thing to do.

I second the incentive from OP  I don't think he's talking about me anymore so I won't reintroduce myself ;)
But I do have two people who are going to stomp over me in 3 months which I know nothing about so it would be nice to get to know them better, the one's I'm passing are mostly inactive since my ppd isn't the highest compared to other active crunchers

i'm not really new, i just never post until recently. at first, i just lurk around here for a while absorbing as much as i could before posting, and i think a lot of people here are like that. the computer jargon takes a while to get use to and learn. im also crunching on 3 crappy machines that i cant afford to upgrade :[

I guess I'm new though I had an account in 01, plain forgot I had one and sn and password were forgotten. So i guess you could I'm back and newly crunching 24/7 100%CPU. I hope to get my boss to donate cpu time on our older servers, we've got like 18 3.2 PD servers doin nothing at all. Nice thread, BTW

Nice of you to stop in and say hi :welcome: Don't worry about the computers you use, of course everyone wants to have some massively fast PC but in the end it is the fact that you crunch that counts. You never know whether your system might fold that important unit that finds the cure!
I started with just my old PC. It has taken me a few years now to get what I have running, and as you can tell they really aren't too terribly new either. So don't feel bad! You are crunching, that's what counts!

systems doing nothing are unhappy systems ;) Only downside to the PD servers is the heat dump/power consumption at load  Might want to be sure your AC can handle it :D

Might have to take you up on that  C2D + X2 during the day, C2D + Ps3 at night and my HD3870 just arrived. I should be in the top 20 producers really soon, not bad for a student who has no job ATM  :D

Thanks for the kind words Sparky !
Some people might not post that much, but they compensate with reading.
I got bitten by that bug in your sig, thats what made me join in.:bows:
That and the fact that the GPU2 client finally came out, making it possible for
the "AMD guys" like myself to fold and actually see some "progress".
I did read a few posts in the folding section, just to see "who is who".
It seemed like a warm, helpful group of people that might not be big in quantity, but most certainly is in quality.
It feels good to be a part of it.
Like a good friend of mine says: It's nice to be important but It's more important to be nice. The XS folding team is "nice" before "important",that works for me;)

Welcome everyone :D It's great to have you all as part of the team... not that I've been around for all that long or anything, but it's a great little community to be part of.

I had to post this...
Pro Sparky:
One vote for becoming XIP   well there would've been few others deserved this promotion, only if they were still around here
I can tell one example for you.
I was having really tough times and thus almost depressed... and then given up folding for a short period.
Then we shared some pms, Sparky took of course the initiative, and I got chance to vent a little. And I continued folding again...
