Hi all,
Yet another cpu heatsink on a video card thread. Gotta love the pictures!

Pic says it all:

What's the point? The heatsink cost me US$19, total work time about 1 and half hours. With very very quiet fans:

I dont find that to be extreme. its much cheaper than other solutions, i find it to be far superior in terms of appearance, obviously functionality, price, and it forces you to use better heatsinks on the ram and regs than what comes with most kits and never sticks and sucks all around.
I cant find a TRUE on a video card... Hmmm..... Why?

I'll work on the overclock, but my understanding to really push something like this heatsink setup, I'll probably have to volt mod my card.
Maybe since I've been modding for so long, I don't consider this sort of mod "extreme" anymore, but rather just plain common sense. I don't really care for super fine audio, so onboard audio is fine for me. I don't really have a monitor with hi enough resolution to warrant sli. So why waste all that pci slot space?
I think its pretty obvious that with my plates, I could probably mount any Thermalright product (altho an IFX-14 would probably need some bending). Point is, the Ultra 90 (http://www.jab-tech.com/Thermalright-Ultra-90-K8-pr-3348.html) can be found for dirt cheap, and give you more than enough performance (I mean 42c load at ultra-quiet, doesn't get much better than that), altho you will have to get a fan and put together a ramsink package.

that looks pretty cool. the only thing i question is the cards ability to stay where it needs to stay with that much weight pulling down on it, unless your run it all the time in the setup that you posted in that linked thread.

What do you find to be extreme then, if not that? CPU @ 5.8GHz + GPU @ 1GHz w/ LN²/DICE? :p:
