i'm not very knowledgeable on monitor technologies. i have a dell 20" 2007WFP right now and i really like it. but i want a bigger monitor.

i'm considering the Toshiba Regza 32RV530U.

i'd like one close to 28-32", under $900 shipped from newegg.
or should i just save up for something better?

DON'T BUY LCD TVs.... That's just other quality.... a wrose one for sure.. I'd suggest you some Apple, Samsung or Eizo 26-27" screen with 1920x1200 resolution

I'd save up. TVs sometimes have a hard time resizing the image from the pc. You get little green or blue bars around the picture, or if you manually resize the picture gets warped. Then again some folks have no problems at all. I'd personally do a crapload of research before spendign coin

Here's a list of S-IPS panels you may find pretty useful :)

As for the LG W2600HP, there seem to be quite a few Chinese/Japanese websites that have the monitor; however no price yet given.

how is the 2007wfp for gaming...16ms response time seems pretty high?

i've never had any issues. i love it for gaming. i purchased a SyncMaster 906BW (i don't know what type of quality the 906BW would be classified as) so i could use a lower resolution natively while gaming online. but it was aweful compared to the dell. the viewing angles were so bad i couldn't use it for gaming. so i just use it as my web surfing monitor.

Please note that ms is not all that matter about ghost in games and 16ms is 16ms on 2007WFP, some 2ms GTG maybe peak at 40ms or more.

2007WFP is good for gaming, very good quality and no ghosts you can detect, but if the objetive is just performance there´s a lot of TN panels with low price to get

And please if someone find any review on this new LG, I would like so much...:D

The Dell 2707WFP is 27" and apparently quite good. Available for 849 USD from Dell.com.

There's actually a thread about it in this same General Hardware section.
