I bought 2 DVD writers. A Pioneer IDE and a Samsung SATA.
The Pioneer is recognized in bios by name but the Samsung shows up as some TSST#### something drive.
Anyone know why?

TSSTCorp = POS. Those are the ones that we use at -insert company name here- I work at tech support, and they are a big POS. :P
PS: Not calling any names, i need the job. :P hahaha
I have an ultra cheap Samsung 16x dvd burner as well. Identified as TSSTCORP :ROTF: I don't burn much and it hasn't failed me yet :)
At least it was cheaper than a regular dvd read only drive

Yea pretty much everyone I talk to says Samsung are good DVD burners.
But even vic is allowed to have an opinion.

Loving my Samsung burner. Been going strong for nearly a year now; it's used at least twice a week to write and daily to read.
