Hi there,

I am using several types of OCZ brand memory for the PC's I build, never ran into any trouble since my OCZ Platinum XTC didn't run 1:1 on the AW9D-Max (which was fixed by a SPD update OCZ sent me  ) but now I'm having a little trouble.

Seems like the OCZ ReaperX 1000 4GB kit won't run in an Abit IP35 Pro, come hell or high water. I tried final 14 and 16 Bioses, set timings manually, raised Vdimm to 2V and set different dividers, but still it won't go past C1 which means mem error, of course.

The mobo runs fine with any other ram (even a 4GB kit of Reaper 1066) and the ReaperX runs fine in any other mobo, so I'm dealing with a compatibility issue here.

Would be great if this was solved, because I need these ReaperX to work with the setup, since this is gonna be a new lineup of completely passive cooled PCs (hence the choice ReaperX).

Any assistance appreciated.

Did you go to their website and check compatability?

No, but if I'd follow compatibility lists, I couldn't do half my builds.
These lists are never even remotely comprehensive, and how could they be, with hundreds of ram and mobo types out there.

Get SPDTool and rip the SPD off the 2 modules while they are installed on another board.

Email me both files, email address is in my Sig.

Thanks

Will do, thanks.
Never used SPDTool though, is it freeware unlike Thaiphoon Burner?

Expect the SPD tomorrow, I'm not at work any longer.

http://www.techpowerup.com/spdtool/SPDTool_062.zip no installation necessary, just unzip to your desktop.

Go to file > read > Module0, let it read, then go to File > save > name and save the file. Repeat with Module1 and then you have what you need to email me.

Great, a colleague volunteered and sent me the SPD. Email incoming.

jcool,
I can give you a free license for Thaiphoon Burner 5.0 if you send me your dump too!
Thanks a lot!

Hey,

in the mean time, I got a new pair of the same ReaperX and they work flawlessly on the IP35 (just need more volts than I am used to for 1000 Mhz...). Didn't reflash the other Reapers yet but obviously their SPD is faulty (Eric sent me a fixed one long since)

But I would be very interested in a free Thaiphoon Burner licence, do you need the bad SPD for that? In that case I'd need your e-mail.
