As title..

I've been pretty disappointed with Ad-Aware recently, it's just crap for the last few years.

What else is out there that is good and not rubbish? (I do not trust the google ads).

Other stuff I use in conjunction is Hijackthis, cwsshredder, just need something to replace the useless bullcrap Ad-aware gives me.:shakes:

I use SuperAntispyware. It seems pretty good.

Thanks for all your advice, superantispyware is awesome. Found 9-10 trojans while Ad-aware, Windows defender found squat.

Brian, Format the last resort, I'm a bit lazy and can't be stuffed unless I really have to:up:

This virus/trojan was unbelievable. First the usual popups, ok fair enough. Soon after that I noticed I could not visit other sites while my laptop was fine. I couldn't conduct ANY google search with different browsers. Really painful.

All this from not porn... but a stupid VAGCom cable+software from China. Bloody bastards!

all you need is Spybot Search & Destroy!! has found many more things than any other programs i have used... and Defender sucks totally but does provide a bit of real time protection so i use both spybot and defender together...
had one friend of mine haveing slow downs on their comp... told em to use spybot... 1800 problems later  they are all good again!!! just make sure to uncheck the "Teatimer" during install... its really annoying but can be helpful...

all of the free-ware is pretty bad in detection now a days, it used to be great back in the day, you can also try Ewido Anti-Spyware.
