2.4C Malay, L321A574, packdate 6/16/03, $199 bought locally (~$30 or so more than NewEgg).
hipro5 has said good things about the 2.4C L321s, but I have seen one other report listing bad results with this CPU (although the user only had Corsair XMS3200 so I suspect the RAM was the limiting factor).
Going to be used in conjunction with a modded Albatron PX865E Pro, 2x 256MB TwinMOS BH5, and homebrewed R404 phasechange. Hoping for at least SuperPi @ 4Ghz.

so Far I've had 5 new P4's they've ranged from Barely stable at default to a 1.4 ghz OC @ default volts, the worse happened to a 2.8 Costa that couldn't do 3ghz without a volt tweak. So far I would say its 100% luck of the draw, Although the Malay's seem to be doing better for the most part.
I'm Still looking for my own "Chong Processor":D
Given the chance I'd snatch it!

I agree, I've seen 4 people post about L321B 2.8's on various boards, some were 4.2+ on phase change, one was 3.8 + on air. I bought one, and it was 3.5 on my H2O, not quite as good as my L310 (3.6)
I've had a lot of luck over the years by following others successful codes, but lately with these P4c's, it seems to be all over the place.
Mine is L321A676 same pack date

What voltage do you need to do 3700Mhz q149?
Had to take care of some bills...dammit...should I scratch together the funds for the chip? The only 2.4C they have on this side of the river- theres one other place about 30-45 min away I could potentially check out- but I havn't really heard about any other specific steppings that tend to be decent overclockers.
i have it on 1.632v but i am not sure if it needs that much because i just always put it there.. i am having problems getting fsb over 300 now though, i'm not sure what i did but i was doing that fine before and i'm pretty sure its not the cpu.

That is pretty sweet for 1.63v. I can imagine with a few extra volts and R404, 4000Mhz would be feasible with a chip like that. :)
Can you get over 300 using SetFSB or ClockGen?

isnt he over 300 fsb? at least in his sig he is
I had it over 300 3d stable but i can't do it 3d stable now... i don't know what's wrong
I have a memory bench (http://q149.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/mba10.cgi) at like 312 fsb 3.75 with same voltage

hey q149 i was just wondering what kind of voltage you are using on your ram. I am trying to find some bh-5 to pickup, and I think I am gonna get a 4pca3+ rev2 which has 3.3vdim...you think that should be enough to get me 2-2-2-x with some bh-5 with 5:4 divider @ 300+ fsb?
Yeah, 3.3 should probably be enough. I am using 3.36 right now

hm...wonder if it under/over volts. The rev1 overvolted everything I think. I might take a chance on this mobo...well not a chance, but the path less traveled maybe?
I wonder what the preformance is like.
I did some more testing today... I had the cpu up to 3,735 1.633v 3d stable with 2:3 ratio and i tested my memory up to 250 1:1 stable but i still can't do over 300 5:4 any more... it has to be my board. The cpu might even do more than that cause it might be my boarding craping out at around 310 3:2 and more vcore didnt do anything. I wonder if better NB cooling will help.. i'm using the Max3 hsf with ceramique

you could try some mosfet cooling. Someone got a few fsb with just a fan blowing on them. How hot is the sb...i haven't had a running intel rig near me in a few weeks so i don't realy remember what stuff I did to oc them.
I realy think the 4pca3+ will be good. As long as preformance is along with the ic7 and p4c800 then it should oc better with the new voltages. I love epox, and I am realy happy that I can get another one of their boards.
I gotta find a place that has rev2's though...newegg doesn't carry any 4pca3+'s. Maybe I could take a look at the 4pda2+ rev2. It has the same volts, and someone hit 320 fsb with it so I guess it oc's pretty well. I am not sure if I want to get an 865 board though.
I haven't done any cooling mods or anything to the board.. just ceramique and the Max3 cooler. I wonder if i should.. this is starting to piss me off, i think i might get a new board... i need to be sure it's just my board though
I think 865 might perform as well as 875.. here's (http://q149.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/mba10.cgi) my memory bench on my IS7

hehe...i have deffinately seen that. I guess I can see if newegg has the rev2 4pda2+'s. I would realy prefer a 4pca3+ though. It is only like $10 more i think. It would be nice if newegg stocked some 4pca3+'s, but it is probably epox not them that is stopping them.
If you get a new mobo you should look into the epox boards...with their new realy high voltages, especially 3.3v vdim, higher than any other mobo. It atleast deserves a look. I think I am gonna get one. I should just get a damn mobo already...they are all so close the high volts on this board is all that sets any of these boards apart.
Ya, just do the Vdimm mod like me, or buy my IS7:D... btw i typed in that board youir talking about in pricewatch and only one came up for like 170$.. I don't know why i never see the Intel EPoX boards anywhere, i never hear anything about them or anything. I don't know if i should get a 2.6c or a new board.. a new board would be better if it clocks high but none will guarantee 310+ fsb 5:4

newegg has the 4pda2+ for $140 and axiontech has it for like $135 but $7 or so shipping.
I e-mailed both of them to find out if they had rev2's.
I will post when i find out.

Axion is notorious for claiming stock when they have none, just a heads up for ya, otehrwise they are ok...

I have emailed Axion about the epox boards they have
The have to order it directly from Epox so it takes a while longer than usual

If you find the rev 2.0 please post. I have about given up on Epox. Asus and Abit are starting to look much better.

I had a week 21 2.4C that did 3915Mhz under just a tec. My tec died on me and took that sweet cpu with it. SO I would get it

axiontech has no eta on the rev2's, and newegg is being realy useless. They won't give me any indication...I don't know if they have them now, or if they don't have them now, or if they know when or if they will get them. They keep responding with some stupid thing like "we can't garuntee anything".

Spec3, that was on water yer? Very very nice
I only have default cooling for now and this is what mine can do

L321A351 is the FPO and its a 13/6 like pc ice chip so Im thinking we have pretty much same chip.
God I cannot wait till tomorrow morning when the prommy arrives......just over 12 hours to go and counting :D
