that's a pump:

As far as I can tell it runs on 240V ac or 415V three phase consuming 0.42 - 0.5kW delivering 1450 - 1700 litres per minute (87000 - 102000 lph).

Only £30 on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330131138979&ih=014&category=46547)

Definitely one for the high flow afficionados.

I'd like to see that puppy in action. Maybe give it a nice black paint job.

i really how you are kidding about a 500watt pump like the O.P. surely is

That's a straight up 3-phase motor/pump. 200-260v delta & 350-450 wye.

you'll need to use pipes welded together instead of tubing to keep from springing a leak, then its a guessing game as to which blows apart first, the block or the rad, lol :p:

3/4hp? Damn, that's bigger than mine. :(
Thanks for making my 90lpm/23m pump feel inadequate.

very cheap, but useless for watercooling...
[old joke] unless you're using a prescott[/old joke]

That's no pump... That's a space station!

that looks a lot like a vacuum pump. maybe an old carbon vane pump.

look at the exhaust port. it looks just like a spring loaded noise dampaner. and its spinning in the direction which would make that side the exhaust too. I see very similar design features as well, look at the cylinder and the way the endplates interface to it. it looks just like Rietschle's design. similar to something like this:

Little VTE (Or PeWee pumps as we used to call them in the shop)
http://www.gd-elmorietschle.com/uploadedImages/Elmo-Rietschle/Products/Rotary_Vane/Images/V-VTE.jpg

but the one in your picture is much older and bigger.
I used to build and service very similar "looking" pumps. just make sure its not for air, because if it is roatry vane it will try to compress water and well... it just cant do that :P

I am planning on copper piping instead of the traditional plastic tubing (see what I did there?) on my current build but even with a seperate loop for each component that would be overkill unless I used a pot to reduce the flow even then I'd need several big radiators and huge airflow to avoid saturation. Having said that, it's still tempting!

so wait... you're really going to use this in a loop or not?

i think 1450/1700 is rpm of the motor and not liter per minute.;)

Too bad the heat dump would make your water hotter than a normal systems coretemp.

Better line up a few semi truck radiators inline to put that heat dump in check while your at it..:D
