Hey guys,
I figured this would be the best place to start asking for some help.

One of the customers my company manages has this issue:

It is very rare, however, it has happend twice now in the last 6 months.

They use a p2015dn w/ a static IP.
Twice now the printer has reset itself to accept DHCP instead of using the static address.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

I'm kind of thinking it may be to power outtages, however, I was thinking that it might have a battery to retain such information (the config).

we had this exact same problem... i have also seen it twice about six months or so apart... no power outage in our building... no other reason at all for it... and yes they should have a CMOS type battery... i can unplug it and plug it back in and it retains its settings...
we have all of our major printer maintainence done by an outside company and the guy who services us is an HP Guru and he said he had never seen anything like it...

It almost makes no sense at all.
I wish there was some sort of logical explanation for it.

The best I can come up with is a memory hiccup.

I've seen this happen once with another HP printer (forgot the model). I assumed that a user had been messing with the printer settings.
