Hey guys,
I figured this would be the best place to start asking for some help.

One of the customers my company manages has this issue:

Details: The site is a domain. The problem is locked down to one user, and on only one laptop.

The user's page margins are locked at very odd numbers.
Every time we go to reset the margins to your standard .75, the margins reset to their unusual varaiables.

We have blown the user's account off of the machine, and then re-pulled the default account. Once pulled, everything works perfectly (margins are proper). After logging off of the account, and logging back in, the margins are incorrect once more!

We've logged into another laptop, and everything is good.

Any Ideas?

Well, it seems that the local machine is overriding the network settings. What are the printer settings on the local machine?

The printer settings are all correct.
(A part I had forgotten to mention) - Many other users also use the same laptop, and their accounts all have the correct margins (which makes this even more difficult to solve).

Do all the accounts pull printer settings from the same group profile?

I... believe so.
They might be pulling them off of the local account.

Sheesh, if all the accounts tied are in the same group printing policy, I think I am out of ideas.

Would you mind posting after you've figured it out? I want to put it in my notes. :) Is this n/w Novell, Windows *NIX or a combo?

EDIT: Why not back up the account data, and just move it over to a new account?

That's always a thought.
I might have to have a server tech do so.
We wanted to go with the least painful path.
that thought is now starting to look like that.

Some other Ideas I had:
-Changing the Margin values through the registry.

-Making the user a temporary admin on the box, changing the values, revert the privilages back.

Why not simply create a new account for that user, and get rid of the faulty one

@ squilliam: You remind me of my Professor, back in the day he would come to the lab and yell, “a workaround is not a solution, solve the problem and learn! A workaround is not a solution, it’s a fail!” Lucky he was never my boss at work, all I do is workarounds!

The registry? I don’t know which key value to change, but let us know how it goes. Is it pulling local settings?

@Frish: Your avatar looks like a Danish cartoon!:D
Sorry, no offence, I have a bad sense of humor! :D
