Has anyone seen or have pic's of what the insides look like for these cases, any reviews or anything like that ?
I am pulling up just pictures of the outsides of the cases.

I like the Eve online cases...

I believe thats like $249 for a painted case. Thats a lot and if the case itself is not good then...

I guess these are just too new for anyone to have actually do a review on the case. It's strange that they do not show any pic's of the inside of the case at all.
Oh forgot to add that these units come from the UK so shipping to the US will be costly.

they are now in the US :D - they had 2 PCs at Showdown LAN Peoria,Illinois over the weekend... They are not painted - it is dye sublimation printed on a special fabric that is stretched over the case then baked on giving it a powdercoat type of finish - it is very durable and hard... If you have any questions I am sure I can get them answered...
Here a some Pics of the 2 cases - an old school JupiterLander case and a Crysis case...

Uh-oh, so for the price of a Stacker 830 I can buy some generic steel case with vinyl film applied? Where do I sign?
Oh my, but it's Commodore! Pardon my previous sarcasm and sell me some branded nostalgia ~.~

Oh my, I really like that Crysis one, but considering the game will go out of style in say a few years, I don't think it would be a very smart investment for me. Exteriors get a 10/10. Interior gets a 6/10. It's not bad, but it's nothing special.
Edit: I thought that was paint. If it's a sticker (See post above), I take back everything good I said about this case. $250 for steel and sticker, they deserve to be shot.

God damn it, its not just a sticker, its not something you can just pull off, it is like... melted onto the case, it has a surfice a bit like lack.
BreeSpree
09-29-2008, 04:04 PM
In that case, it sounds like some custom paint job with a bunch of clearcoat or an actual coat of lack on it. In that case, it's pretty cool. Dammit, some guy made me think it was a sticker for a second.:shakes:

The Commodore 128 is hard to find. (My brother has one of those too.)

Its shrink film so they can be more mass produced. I highly doubt you could find an artist to do those cases for that price if it was hand painted. Even the jupiter lander would be over that price. How do you land on Jupiter??? Its a gas giant...

Now they don't oc their machines or anything like that. It's still a nice machine. Just not your top of the line out of the box over clocked computer. You can get one for about 1500. Which isn't that bad for what it is. You can oc it by yourself tho.
They use this paint that bounds into the metal.
http://www.commodoregaming.com/repository/image/3/2369.jpg
To me the case alone with the nice nice nice paint job could be worth the 1500 by itself. They just look that good.
They have all sorts of ones to pick from when u order your machine.

He was at our table(with our group the commodore man) during the lan, and in his they want to be different than other high end gaming machines. They really want to cater to people that don't have the funds for a voodoo, alienware you know the company's that I'm talking about. They want to cater to people that want to spend around 1500 for a good looking machine that should be able to play all the popular games.

Looks like a ripoff to me. The case looks small and cramped, the internal layouts are nothing - nothing - interesting or special, and the paintjob...Shouldn't EA PAY YOU to do their advertisement for them? At least take off the retarded logos. I really don't get these people who buy cases ; or modify them; with company logos plastered all over the place. Seriously,...I'd be so embarassed to have one of these things sitting in my place, making me look like some rich geek who was stupid enough to shell out the money for it.

So I'm guessing you haven't been addicted to Crysis yet... I would very much like to rep that case, it looks sexy to me. And I believe TheGoatEater said it was dye-sublimation. I want that Crysis one, anyone know where I can get just the case?
TheGoat Eater

These are mainly a Chassis/case for THEIR systems - but sourcing a case can be done ( like EVE ONLINE cases and CLAN cases )
OK - the deal is that you get to choose a C-Kin (skin) when you buy your system or you can buy a case - usually in the special offers section... the only ones they have now separately with no components are the EVE ONLINE chassis and a custom case design for CLANS (must buy at least 4 or more ), then to not get stuck with a C-KIN that you don't like after a while you can get a new skin/panels to outfit your case with (need to have a case serial number to order though)...

Check out the C-kin "C64 Breadbox (http://commodoregaming.com/us-en/C-Kin/Examples+3D.aspx?skin=2165)" or any of the other Classic Commodore C-kins

Do you realize how much it would cost to get a painted case from a company like Maingear, Falcon Northwest, or Voodoo? It will most likely be between $700 - $1500 (more especially if there are detailed pictures on it) ... and it will not match the level of the High Definition that Commodore cases have - unless they are printing on vinyl and that can easily peel off and wear down. So it is not really that expensive in the whole scheme of things.

thanks for actually reading what I wrote - as people still think its paint - and if it was DAMN what a deal for all that LOL (But no )

you know how much paintjobs cost - even ones by Cooler Master? the CSX ones go anywhere from $700 - $1300 (http://www.frozencpu.com/scan/MM=c6eddef83858bd6b4bdb1d55e353f6a6:30:59:30.html? mv_more_ip=1&mv_nextpage=search_results_list&mv_profile=keyword_search&mv_searchspec=coolermaster&mv_arg=)

Aww man the C64 swirl dark/light, classic. I think it's awesome that you are giving people an alternative to the higher priced "gaming" PC competitors. The process you use to apply the images to the cases looks top notch, and it isn't all that expensive to get the case alone. It's probably not cost effective now because from my experience I haven't heard much about Commodore Gaming, but you should make more chassis available for purchase. The prices aren't that good till you add the custom case job, but they become attractive after that.

Meh. They're not my thing, but the prices for the cases are pretty competitive. If the full selection of case graphics were sold as a stand-alone product line, they might stand a chance, but the systems are overpriced and underpowered. At least in my opinion.:)
But what the heck, if they can sell them to the "More-money-than-brains" club, I say they should go for it. Every weekend that I go to a computer show/fair, I see systems for sale for way more than what I know they can be built for. And none of them look half as good as these.

I do have a question in regards to the new skin/panels you mention. Can you clarify a little bit in regards to the details on this?
For example, how many swaps do you get and is there a waiting period before you can order one? Do you get to keep your old panels when you request the new ones?
I figure if you get at least 2 or 3 swaps, 4 or more for me would be the magic number, over the life of the case the $325 price for the case would appear to be justified. If you are limited to a single swap then the price may not be as attractive.
Overall, not taking into account the size of the case, there really needs to be some kind of additional value that you get for the money you would pay. I mean, $325 plus 4 panel swaps and you keep the panels, is a lot more attractive than say just one or no panel swaps. If they want these to sell they should play up those aspects otherwise as others have mentioned already why bother when you could do better yourself?

Good to see you on this forum Ladyfox
I'm going off what I find on their site...
Sorry - I think maybe my thoughts didn't clearly come across in my typing, judging from this news article from commodoregaming.com
(http://commodoregaming.com/pcshop/News/News+articles/+Ckins+separately+available+to+Commodore+PC+owners .aspx) these skins can be PURCHASED separately from Commodore for revamping your case that you previously purchased either in a system build or a specialty case (like the EVE cases)
WARNING: The prices listed in the library are for panels only. You must own a Commodore Gaming PC / PC Case to be able to buy them. SERIAL NUMBER REQUIRED.
I believe you keep your panels and just buy new ones judging from the purchasing aspect of it, you shouldn't have to return anything... It seems all that you need to order the panels is the serial number of the case you currently own and money to purchase...
I myself like the "High Brow Art" section of C-kins best...
once again going off of the website details at commodoregaming.com as I do not work for them... yet:)

I will reiterate for everyone to understand, what I have been told and understand - these cases are for housing their PC components (Their builds) and you can only purchase a separate case as a CLAN multi case buy, or a special offer like the EVE Online case... then you are able to re-outfit panels (for purchase) so you don't get stuck with something you can't change...

CORRECTION: You CAN now buy Ckins and Chassis by themselves - HERE (http://commodoregaming.com/us-en/Game+PC/C-kin.aspx) - it was JUST put up and I got the word from Amsterdam that we did so... Some know and some don't but in the interest of full disclosure  if you are not aware that I now am with them, since my last post... so feel free to ask questions and now I can be sure of these types of things;)
