I'm having this random quick BSOD then system reboot during normal 2D sessions. There are times I can trigger the BSOD and reboot if I initiate one process while another process is already going on.
I can't figure out the cause of this problem. One thing odd I've found out so far is that memories pass the Memtest, but Widnows shut down Prime 95 session with a message saying there's a problem. I've also ran OCCT for an hour without any errors. This thing is really driving me crazy.

run chk dsk , sounds like file system issues if it happens like you say.

I had the same issue with my ex-Maximus Formula since i got a QX9650 and a 8800GTS (G92).
The reason why i'm mention QX9650 and a nVidia G92 cards is because, at the begin of my Maximus Formula (+Q6600) i had a 8800 Ultra running without any problem, then i got a QX9650 with ATI HD3870 also running fine... But when i got the 8800GTS (G92) i faced that same issue of yours.
Tryed again with a Q6600+8800GTS = Run fine.
Tryed QX9650 with a ATI card= Run fine.
Maximus+QX9650+8800GTS= Random BSOD!
Also some times i got blackout screens, some black, some green and purple... System would run for 1 or 2 minutes without screen and then frezze...

when I got same issues ( orthos failed or BSOD with ramdom reboots ) I raise vcore and no more pb
3.6 ghz with 1.12v real was wishful thinking on my first xeon ....
or maybe PSU/mobo vdroop issue at load ?
quadcore + dual GPU as 9800X2 + overclocking is very consuming rig IMO

were you using bios 0903? it has S3 issues. I didn't have any trouble with my G92 except that it was slower than my G80.

I think I finally figured out the problem.
It was the NB voltage. I thought x48 chipset would do 400mhz FSB at default voltage since x48 is cherry picked from higher binned x38 for official 1600mhz bus system support. Or there's something wrong with my Rampage Formula (this is not Maximus Formula with Rampage bios). Either way, I was wrong!
I found out that the "AUTO" setting on NB voltage results in overvoltage on NB, 1.61v, when system runs at 400mhz FSB. This didn't happen on Maximus Formula I had.
Anyhow, my system has been running without any reboots all day today since I left the NB voltage in the bios to AUTO. The only downside to this is that NB temperature is at 50C.
