Hello to everyone in first place.
First I´m going to describe my computer:
- Epox 8rda+ V1.1 with:
- Vdd mod at 2.11V
- Vdimm mod at 3.26V
- Northbridge Lapped and watercooled
- Zalman cooper heatsink over the southbridge with fan on top.
- Cooper heatsinks over the mosfet with 80mm fan on top and heatsinks all over any single place hot at all.
- 2 x 256 GEIL Ultra Platinium 3700.
- AMD 2400 XP AIUHB
- Antec True Power 480W.
I´m actually running FSB 243 and can go any further. I read that doing the cap mod will help me go higher by giving more solid volt lines. I´ve look like mad but haven´t found a guide or something to do it. I´m only interested in the values of the capacitors and the brand. Read somewhere that it is just a matter of replacing the orginals by some better quality ones. Which brand produce the best capacitors? Also read that would also help higher capacity ones, but how much more capacity? Also wanted to know if I have to replace every single capacitor of the board or simply the ones beside the mosfets? I know those are the most important ones, but if replacing them all would help just let me know.
I´m also thinking that my memory is starting to hold me back, but can go any higher than 3.26VDimm. Any possible way to get higher?
Also read something about replacing the bios battery. Which one should I use instead?
By the way if anyone has any idea how to get mi mobo go higher please let me know.
Thanks for the answers!!

first of all WELCOME TO THA EXTREME! :D

about the bios battery check out www.motherboardfaqs.com , i think they suggest some battery you should use.

for high fsbs you need a stable or little overvolted 3.3 and 5v line, the easiest way to achive this is modding your psu to give you higher voltages. check out your psu (open it) i think it has pots you can use to adjust the voltages.ask somebody else or seach the forum about a mod for your psu or another antec psu so you know what opot does what. (be very carefull whe openening the psu!)

if you raise the 3.3v you should get a higher vdimm if you have done the vdimm mod afaik, if not its worth to try it anyways since the thing holding you back could as well be the low or unstable 3.3 and 5v rails.

and cool the chip right next to the chip you did the vdd mod to, it gets pretty hot too ;) ah and the chip above the mosfets too! :)

i dont know some quality caps for the 8rda+ ... i have an asus a7n8x deluxe 2.0 now wich gives me extremely good voltages
12.4v 3.4v 5.1v , on my 8rda+ re1.1 and my nf7-s 2.0 boards i only had average voltages, so i assume my caps are high quality caps. they are black and labeled:

6.3v 3300µF ... doesnt say anything about the manufacturer :/

the caps on the 8rda+ aenot that bad though, just try the psu mod, should help you to get 250

hope i could help ya :toast:

Hi,
Thanks for the answer, just replaced the battery its a CR2032 and the most important thing the voltage supplied should be 3.3V or 3.2V rock solid if anyone else is interested in replacing the battery. I´m about to open the PSU and see if I´m able to get higher rails. When you say your Caps give nice voltages, you mean that you measure the voltage directly on the board right?? I normally measure the rails using the ATX connector. Can you tell me which points I have to use to see how much voltage my caps are providing to the board please.
Thanks.

uh, no. the voltages i told you were what winbond tells me.

no idear about measuring from te caps directly...

I´ve just read the bandwidth thread. Where did you get those memory sticks from!!!?? My crappy geil memory would not do nothing similar, no much vdimm I apply to it. Can you recommend me some nice memory sticks to run 250FSB with tight timmings. I´ve read tons about BH-5 chips but not really sure which memory to find them on. Also how much Vdimm did you apply to get those scores and also was stable or simply sandra stable?? Here in Spain its difficult to find nice hardware so if you know an online store that ships to spain would be great.
Thanks for the answer!!

you mean the 3.9gb/s score? thats not my score! :D

somebody ele posted it. he used cheap memory with bh5 on t and was running them at 3.2v i think...

twinmos 3700 will run 250 with cl2.5-3-3-7 with 3v or more, maybe 250 with cl2-3-3-7 with 3.2v...

the only memory i know that runs 250cl2 is ocz... and its extremely expensive!
