I have a LP LT P35-T2R that won't boot. Everything fires up, then two to three seconds later reboots. It will do this until I kill the power. Anyone else have this issue?
I have a DFI Infinity P965-S that did the same thing when I first got it, but after manually power cycling it about 15 times it started to go through full boot. Every time I cut power to it though, it recycles twice then boots.
I can't get this P35 to boot at all though. I'm probably going to RMA both boards.
1. Any suggestions to make this board work?
2. If I RMA should I RMA through Newegg or DFI?
If you have a 45nm CPU installed in the P35 try a 65nm before doing an RMA. If the board boots flash to the latest BIOS and reinstall the 45nm. If an RMA is necessary and the board was just received RMA back to the place of purchase.

^^ oh crap.... i should have thought of that.
i'll try that when i get home. thanks Praz.
May be a bum board but that's the classic symptom for 45nm and an incompatible BIOS on the DFI board.

yea, there's a E8400 sitting in the socket with the BIOS it shipped with. i'll have to steal a 65nm out of one of my file servers. what a headache that will save if that's the issue.
Post back how it goes. Good luck.

I have the same issue with my DFI UT P35-2TR. Apparently the original owner of it (SVTsnake) had the same issues. Constant reboots (all failures) but it isn't consistent. I've tried every bios, 2 bios chips, 4 cpu's (E2140, QX6700, E8400, E8500), 2 PSU's, multiple graphics cards, 4 sets of Ram(3 sets micron D9GHM, 1 set G.skill 4g pq).
I need the original invoice to RMA unfortunately, so for now I'm stuck with this damn thing.
One thing I noticed. It usually works(more often) with the 10/04 bios with my E2140. I had it working with my E8400 fine for a while but then I couldn't get it to reboot with that cpu no matter how many times I cleared the CMOS. I had to install my trusty E2140 to get it to reboot.
Praz, you are the master of this motherboard, any ideas?
A quote from SVTsnake a while back. "I killed my 2 Patriot PDC22G8000+XBLK sticks on this board running them 24/7 at 2.27v! Those were some really nice sticks as they were able to run 1080 4/4/4/12 on my previous last 4 or 5 boards with no problems. For now, I have ripped out the DFI and have been testing the new Gigabyte X38-DQ6. Using Ballistix Tracers 8500's now as well. So far I am liking the Gigabyte over the DFI. Less prone to the dreaded C1 post's for sure. More testing is needed though. Wonder if DFI is having a voltage problem with the DIMM slots on this board? I know the LanParty NF4 boards were prone to blowing out memory. Could it be a similar problem were seeing?"

What you're describing isn't right. SVTsnake should be able to come up with a copy of the invoice somehow. If at all possible I would RMA the board.
All the time I've had meters and scopes on these boards I've never been able to catch a memory overvoltage condition. It was probably just the time for the Patriots to go.

Had the same issue with my first P35 T2R, but after flashing to the 12/24 bios most of the bugs were fixed ( but still had some ) so I ended up rma the board.... One thing you can play with is the amount of tension youre giving when bolting down the hsf... try not to overtighten them cos these boards dont like to be bent esp around the pwm area....
As for killing rams, I agree with Praz and say its probably just time for the Patriots to go.... My board overvolts ~ .06v but it should take alot more than that to kill mem stick....

Could also be caused by a incompatible VGA ;)

You know, I was kind of thinking it dealt with the pressure of the cpu heatsink. If I bolted down my waterblock onto my benchboard which maintained it flat I didn't have as many issues, however with the stock intel hsf it was really tight. I messed with mount pressure a ton and couldn't get any steady trends but it did seem to play a part in it.
I just wanted to use this board for a 24/7 build with my qx6700. If I could just get it to work one way and then stick with it I would, but it's so frustrating.

oh snap. praz you're my hero. just finished installing windows :D
upgraded to BIOS 317, no issues.
Glad to hear. It's nice when the simple things work.
