My first thread in these here forums.:D Shame its not a positive one. :(

I turned my comp on this morning and after about half an hour it just locked up so i had to restart.
This keeps happening and i have no idea why.
Specs are as in my main rig (in sig) but with a PentiumD 945 instead of the E6300. Iv been doing some OCing with the PD945 and got it to 5.2Ghz with 1.8v... I only ran it in windows for a few mins like this but i think this may have something to do with it.
Im running it at stock speeds now though.
Iv tried different RAM modules and i get the same thing so the RAM is fine.

Im thinking it could be something overheating as it dies after about the same amount of time every time but I have fans everywhere and no case so its unlikely. Its deff not the proc overheating as that on stock doesnt go above 45C load with the apogee GTX. I have the nb water cooled. The graphics card has stock hs on it but with a 110cfm 120mm fan pointed at it. I have also had a fan on the MOFSETs and all that for the OCing sessions.

Another thing, it does it whether under load or not. And it was exactly the same setup last night and it was fine.

I have tried a different graphics card and still the same problem. I have also re-seated the nb block.

Please help.

Woah! Holy sh*t! 1.8v! That's insane! There is no way the load temps for that is 45C. What program are you using, use coretemp.

To be honest, I think you did something seriously bad to that chip...

45c load is at stock speeds. I didnt load it at 1.8v just into windows got hte screeny and then restart. hope i aint broken it :(

btw coretemp doesnt work on PDs.. i use speedfan with a +15c adjustment for the temps.

I did notice the vdrop was quite a lot. from 1.31 set in the bios to 1.26 idle and 1.24 load. u think i should do a vmod... iv fuond a few around that i could try.
