So i have the G.skill F2-6400Phu2-2GBHZ sticks in my rig.But i have the iimpression they are just enough. When i play F.E.A.R my ram usage goes up to 91% ...

Now i'm wondering when i buy extra ram,do i need to buy the same ones?Or can i buy different sticks,if i stay with G.skill??I have a Asus P5K Deluxe mobo so i only have 4 slots to stick the memory.

Tnx in advance:up:

It is technically possible to run RAM from different manufacturers and different stock speeds together, although this is not recommended. If you do so, then all your RAM will need to run at the speed of the lowest sticks and with the latencies of the loosest sticks - which will involve a fair bit of BIOS fiddling, and even then there's no guarantee of stability.

You're much better off buying more of the same - it'll make life a lot simpler.

it dosnt matter if u get gmh since u have gmh just get the team group since gskill HZ is bank

http://www.tankguys.com/product_info.php?cPath=46_144_147&products_id=1806
its $43 and gmh only its great ive used about 6 kits of it and its awsome, it also plays nice with other gmh

u just need to set about half of your bios settings but u shouldent have a problem just get memset to view it and then look at what others have and start tweaking

its also cheap enough that for the price of 1HZ kit u could buy 6GB of ram

What? Relevance?

2 gigs of RAM not enough to play a simple game.

I wouldn't call FEAR a simple game, but i know what you mean.Strangely enough a Highly graphical game like The Witcher "only" needed 65%.

fear has a 64 engine if i remember right so it can and will use more memory than something like the witcher that has no grafix options or the complexity that fear has
