I need some advice on which case would be better off for a first time build. I've been looking at two different ones.

X-Clear Acrylic

Lian Li PC-7BW Plus - Black w/ Side Window

I know a lot of people use the Lian Li cases but also would like to know if anyone has ever used the x-clear or knows of any other Plexiglas case that might work.

Personally i'd take a look at the "RocketFish" case that BestBuy now offers. Its a re-badged Lian Li thats huge and can be had for $47.99 - $119.99 (Depending on the store, some price match, some won't)

I'm actually looking for a mid or full size case with window. I was looking at the Cosmos S recently and I heard that they are coming out with a windowed version. Anyone know any cases that are like it with a window?

The Cosmos has had the window version out for a while now. Another large Case is the Stacker 830. It too has a version with a pre modded window.

I present the windowed Cosmos.

I think you can get it as a kit too. There is a metal plat bolted to the back side of the side panel where the sound dampening is at. Basically you take that plate off and cut the whole for your window. Then using the existing screw down points you bolt the window into place. Just gotta be able to cut out the side panel yourself when using the kit.

Yeah I don't have anything at home that I could use for cutting so I'm gonna have to buy a pre-windowed one.
